there won't be a zone to play to begin with. The opposition will play Phoenix Suns offense against the Rockets for 5-3 fast breaks every play!

Matchups-wise, any 4 or 5 that can shoot a medium range jumper will have a field day. The NBA is starting to understand the importance of a medium range jumper. And, if we shrink our zone further in, we'll leave wide open 3s.

Cato can actually run down the court efficiently

JVG did it with a little success with Yao and Cato. I see the same situation. It could work. Totally shut down the middle. Totally dominate the def. boards.

Deke is not a PF, and last time I checked neither is Yao. But still a 7'2 7'6 front court would be just brutal.

    two things:

1 - who comes in if both are winded? gotta keep one fresh at all times if possible. maybe at the end of the half/game or something...

2 - if we never play them together, then we don't have to worry about one of DEKE's crazy elbows flying in to YAO's face. seriously, they'd both go for a rebound and it would happen eventually. DEKE's elbows are legendary. i've heard DEKE is required to wear elbow pads in practice just for this reason...

Even when yao comes back, Mounto moutombo is gonna get more Time. however, where i an see him getting alot of time is the playoffs. the defense dominated playoff games, is where moutombo will surely excell greatly.

1 just like now - Juwan or Hayes

Remember this is not a 35 mpg thing. Sorta like my proposal to use vspan every so often - like when Ben Gordon is going off like a firecracker - if Battier is busy then bring span in to play some D like he did on Arenas. Just enough to stop the momentum, close the paint, take the wind out of the opp's sails.

I couldn't see it working against Phoenix or Dallas.

But there maybe some matchups were it would work. Defensively the Rockets are at the top of the league in defending the paint with just one in the middle.
The weakness has been defending the three. Thus I don't see us using that combo for 30 minutes a game.

If the opposing 4 & 5 are not outside threats then maybe.

Teams would run us off of the court.

much better - i think you don't want to go with the twin towers - out of respect for what happened and what happens if both players would get injured.

not sure how it will work out defensively, not interior, yao and deke, how can anyone score inside? but on the perimeter yao and deke both not extremely quick on pick n roll, have 2 slower guys mean slower rotation. It the whole reason chuck Hayes get the starter job
