Yeah, it's a charity game, but do you see current nba players doing this in charity games? Kevin Durant lit up Rucker park and all he did was look at the fans. I expect the AND-1 crew to act like this, but when you're an NBA player, you have to really know how to present yourself because you are always under the radar. Thus is why this thread has gotten so LONG with supporters and "haters". When you're in his position right now (a talented guy yet to crack the rotation), you are really trying to prove yourself worthy for meaningful minutes in an NBA game. Only desperate teams will try to pick him up (like we did by giving up a first round pick) By him acting like this, Nets management is being happier they let him go, and Rockets management is getting more disappointed. I think many of us that are upset with his antics are venting out because we know this guy can be great, but he chooses not the best way to represent himself. So the guy needs to really GROW UP and play SERIOUS basketball. He has an opportunity to shine as THE GUY on our team, but he's being a knucklehead about it.
Clutchfans never ceases to amaze me... When you guys say he 'stripped' that makes the situation sound gay.. He took his jersey off like, "THAT WAS NASTY". Things like this are done during pickup games all the time. Was it a amazing dunk? No, but it was decent.. Plus while he was in the game it probably seemed better than it looked. This guy was around his friends helping put on a show, but he should stay professional, right?
All I can think when I see this exploding thread is, man, finally something to talk about on the GARM! Twill is doing for all yall, whether you love him or hate him.
I sure did, for more than 25 years, and not once did any idiot remove his shirt and showboat around the floor. Not once...and there were plenty of dunks on people... DD
There's a reason I hate pick-up ball; the types of people and behavior it attracts. I swear it's like a bunch of animals during mating season some times. But he can do whatever he wants.
You know what we told players that showboated after our game? Don't worry man, you can have next, winners play on. DD
Story time: "DD was lumbering down the court, CJ fresh off a steal dunks the ball. On the way back down DD runs in to CJ and says "Nice steal, you really got me." Whenever play resumed the point guard by the name of Vassilis Spanoulis calls on DD to set a pick. Without thinking, DD cupped his sack and held his ground while Chase Buddinger bumps lovingly in to his porcine belly. Amazing, he thought quietly to himself, as his fantasy was coming true. There he was in all his glory, a tall redheaded man who can do everything that DD holds so dear...shoot 3 pointers, not be consistent, not be black, and has an affinity to avoid defense. Yet there Buddinger stood, trapped between his own momentum and the layers of bacon that surrounded DD. DD no longer could contain himself, he grabbed C-Bud by the arms and their eyes met. Neither of the two men could understand the feeling that now passed like electricity through their soul but they knew one thing, they had to kiss. Buddinger lowered his head several feet down, while DD raised upon his tipped toes. When their lips met it felt like an eternity passed when it was mere seconds and neither man had any breath. Bud couldnt breathe because of love, while DD couldnt breathe because he was running. From that day forward, DD never could never love another SF and expressed unabated hatred towards any who may play his lovers position."
I honestly don't believe that in 25 years you have never witnessed someone take off their shirt, jersey, muscle shirt or anything of the nature, after a dunk or block. Were you playing in Iowa or something?
I see it all the time out here in LA at pickup games I dont think its something that is extremely out of the ordinary. i think its kind of gone overboard all this talk i dont really care too much what he did but at the same time i dont believe he has a long future in the NBA after his rookie deal is up for a lot of the same reasons why people dislike him for doing what he did. but its a charity game in like a high school gym and it played to the crowd let it go. this is so wrong and unnecessary i cant even begin to think how you could even come up with something like this
