McHale hates Asians, that's why Lowry got traded. Pretty obvious.

    Um......so maybe he doesn't like ball-handling PGs?

Anyways, it would be great if Sam I Am would come out and say something about this situation.

Umm, Sam was not DEMOTED. He was a rookie coming off the bench. After TWO YEARS he earned the starting job because he was clearly more talented than Kenny.

Not saying that Lin shouldn't be coming off the bench. But I fail to see the parallel.

And Cassell got traded away from the Rockets and became an All-Star after leaving the Houston.

he doesn't necessarily have "playmaking ability" like your typical point guard but he doesn't have to since James is our primary ballhandler. Its based on fit and Beverley fits more w/ the starters than a spark off the bench. It just makes more sense for everyone all around...not sure whats not to understand about that but I guess thats why you got negative rep

We got Charles Barkley out of that trade.

Could we get an all star for Lin?

    This comparison makes no sense.
Beverely is the better Cassell comparison.

Moreover, if the comparison did make sense (which again it doesn't), what's the point?? That it's a great move to keep Lin on the bench, since then we'll win back to back championships?

Sure, if we traded Parsons along with him like the Cassell trade included other pieces.

Yes, if the All-Star is in the post-30 later stages of his career. And in a package deal with other assets.

And it depends on the All-Star. I'm sure you mean a 1st team All-NBA, not a lucky Jrue Holliday type. I think Lin + Chandler Parsons package could help lure in a current Pau Gasol level player on certain teams

Looking back, yeah though people didnt like deal you get Charles Barkley top 3 PF all time with some ball left in him. Thats about as obvious a deal you do as anything.

    And Cassell didnt get "demoted".

Kenny Smith got critique but was still a decent starter for years before Cassell came along. And the Rockets at that time had some really iffy drafts before then. There wasnt any guarantee that Cassell would be even servicable. Even lottery pick Robert Horry was getting traded. Was just thankful he was better than a Dave Jamerson-John Turner scrub pick

Give me Sam Cassell any day over Jeremy Lin. While Cassell was a fearless rookie helping his team win a championship, Lin looked like a frightened child who had lost his mother in a crowd full of strangers in the playoffs.

If Lin has to have a role on this team, coming off the bench would be the most acceptable. It would be better if he was buried at the end of the bench with Casspi discussing religion while the real basketball players put in work. I'd much rather have Aaron Brooks as a 6th man than Lin. At least we all know that AB has the ability to step up in the playoffs.

He had what? One real game to actually play healthy in the playoffs? Everyone played bad in game one.

For the Nth time, Lin played well in the second game before he got injured.
