Trailer already makes the storyline look confusing, which means the show will be incomprehensible again. Will tune in for the visuals. Future NYC looks cool..
S4 premier tomorrow…the show’s been on such a long hiatus, I’ve forgot most of the details from the previous seasons will watch Youtube recaps later
They got back to their roots a bit. The only thing I can say so far is that "Christina" is another throwback to the famous painting by Andrew Wyeth which shows up in some form or fashion in almost every sci fi movie. And it fits. She's can't quite get to where she wants to go.
So I fired this up last night and my wife and I realized that we hadn’t even watched season 3 yet. Not sure how that went under the radar for us but it was a pleasant surprise to have an extra season to enjoy.
Joy and Nolan showed that painting to Evan Rachel Wood as a sort of inspiration for how they envisioned Dolores. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/dolores-westworld-christinas-world-art_n_580a6bbbe4b000d0b1569f55/amp I’ve got some thoughts about the premiere episode and the flies in particular but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. Spoiler It seems the hosts are using the flies (Delos created smart tech) to control humans in a reverse from the first season. You have the whole intro with the hosts acting like they’re in a theme park (white or black) mirroring the start of S1 but in fact Hale Dolores is getting revenge on the humans by making them live out storylines created by hosts. The guy who commits suicide is actually a human “this isn’t who I am” and the guys earlier in the episode saying “wait til you see this… it’ll blow your mind” are hosts visiting NYC for pleasure and revenge
They always trying to monetize their music. I don't blame them, I would too, but I just don't care for them much over the last couple decades.
So far so good. Seems like the robots are opening their own park, and the humans have become the hosts.
I agree. Season 1 was cool because it introduced everything but this is WAY WAY past 2 and 3. Anyone who left after those needs to come back. It's a new direction for sure.
While this could be true, it wouldn't make sense as to why Caleb couldn't get shot (even though he is human) but Maeve could (even though she's a host). If the park was opposite-land, wouldn't the guns only work on humans and not on hosts? Or maybe the gun only works if it detects that the humans are infected with the fly serum, and since Caleb has not been infected yet that's why he was immune to the gunshots. I too think this season is surprisingly good. After being too confused in S2 and S3, I am not as confused (yet) this season, and the storyline has become interesting.
That is how all the guns work in west world. They are attracting people to westworld and they are shooting Hosts. Everything is the same basically except it is a ply for the flies.
