Disagree, but you could very well be right. My opinion, Bernard is merely a loyal servant of Ford's needed to ensure Ford is able to "tell his stories" by writing Ford's code, making sure Ford's stories are told from a technical standpoint, and being able to spy on the corporation. As I mentioned before, the overarching themes are consciousness and immortality. I believe Arnold represents the immortality side as even after he is "dead" he still lives on through hosts/the code.
My theory ( the horse is Arnold ) would agree with you on the Bernard Point. Bernard is just a regular robot tool for Ford. I'm in your camp on that and on the search for immortality. We in alignment. Just thinking about if the other argument is reasonable. The photo causes a hole and so at this point I would drop the theory that Bernard looks like Arnold. And I would have to agree that means that "Bernard" is not in the picture. Therefor ho human would see Bernard in the picture and get confused.
Si this picture shows Ford and his dad and the theory going around is that Arnold is on the far right. Since we're looking at this from Bernard's perspective, we can't see Arnold either because 1) Bernard is Arnold or 2) Ford has programmed him to not see anything there (what door?). Even if Bernard were Arnold why would no one else question why Bernard hadn't shed since that picture was taken?
I imagine most people working at the park in the latest timeline have no idea what Arnold looks like. He "passed" away 35 years prior and the company, along with Ford, have brushed his death under the rug. There was that scene with Logan explaining to William that their company plans on purchasing part of the park, the one where they meet the Federalos. He tells him that the person who built it disappeared and no one knows what happened (Im assuming they are talking about Arnold). Wait.... does that make sense? If the multiple time line theory is true. I don't remember but didn't Logan say it happened 30 years ago? So if the person they're talking about is Arnold, then the multiple timeline theory can't be true. I am so confused now.
I've spent so much time on Reddit reading all of these theories I don't know what to believe anymore. "Doesn't seem like anything to me."
So Who all have seen it? Only think I can think is . . .. Perhaps the Arnold in the picture is younger than the way Bernard looks? No beard . .. moustache . . . or old .. . more gray or something That he is in some way different than the Bernard we know Rocket River
I've rewatched a couple of scenes using HBO Go and I'm now convinced we are watching two timelines. There are subtle clues, but mostly it's the things they focus on that are different in the two timelines, like making a big deal of how the man in black couldn't get hurt by any bullets even though they fired like a hundred at him while William was knocked down in pain by a rubber bullet.
Can someone tell me how you get fired and then are free to continue to roam around the work building like it never happened...especially a sensitive work area like that? That's a load of crap...unless the people who fired Bernard already knew he was a robot who couldn't really leave. But, it seemed Ford is the only one who knew and it was his dirty little secret. Now that Bernard killed the other lady...does that mean he instantly gets his job back? Or, does he just hang out at the house with the rest of the hidden robots?
Do you mean right after Bernard was fired? That was weird to me too. I think they just figured he needed time to gather his things. It seems they live on-site so I don't know. It was just weird. Yeah, I'm assuming Theresa is coming back in android form with a change of heart. She'll probably convince the lady from corporate to keep Bernard and/or stop pushing Ford to leave the company.
Not a fan of it. I watch it with my roommate and he can't stand watching it with me cause I just question the plot holes or how it doesn't make much sense in some areas of the show
re: Arnold is Bernard theory- When Bernard first confronts Ford about Arnold, Ford flashes back to working in a lab with Arnold, pre-park, creating the robots. Went back and watched EP03 and saw this guy-- could it be young Bernard? Or am I just racist? Probably the latter...
Yes, I just watched the first 3 episodes again and I am too. MIB specifically telling Dolores: "After all we've been through..." Then the next episode starts anew with the two guys reaching the park.
This show is so awesome. The soundtrack is amazing. And Shannon Woodard......best show on HBO next to GOT
