But it turns out Openhulu is legit. “[Hulu] allows embeds. I took all the embeds and made them publicly available,” said Matt Schlicht, who’s running Openhulu. Hulu said that’s true. “Openhulu is using Hulu’s embeddable video player to feature videos on their site—they do not have a formal relationship with Hulu,” said Hulu spokeswoman Christina Lee. “We encourage viral distribution of Hulu content on the Web,” she added. “That said, viral distribution of premium content is still a new concept and we evaluate each usage of the Hulu player on a case-by-case basis.” Who would have thought? Big media being cool with viral distribution.

I don't think you need an invite. I went there and signed up months ago. You register and they send you an email letting you in about a week later. If I'm not mistaken it will be out of beta and open for everyone soon anyway. Until then enjoy the initial link provided.
I remember I had to wait a while after I signed up with Hulu before they let me in. I haven't used my invites, so I don't know if that is quicker. I've got 10 and it's better to watch this stuff on Hulu instead of open hulu since you can full screen and what not. Even the regular size is bigger thant the embeded player on open Hulu. That MSN Arrested Development page somebody linked yesterday is awesome. Great way to kill time during lunch.
