its always raining in seattle, tree huggers need to cut down all those trees and stop the rain i agree with commodore, that was a weak stereotypical depiction of a hispanic
I think the 3rd episode was just as good as the first two. The show is taking it's time and can get away with it for now. Eventually, one or two particular storylines will have to grab people, some "zingers" need to be thrown in and the plot will have to build towards a season finale. I'm confident these will happen.
I thought it was great. One thing I am not getting yet is that it seems like they've cracked the case already? Wasn't expecting that...
i don't think so, that girl drowned and in the opening scene she wasn't bloodied up, something else seemed to happen in the cage
Good point on the blood. Looked like they were caught on video raping her. She had obviously been either roofied or drugged up on something. Who knows?
Spoiler At least the brother wasn't the first to die like they always are in the movies. This time a white girl died first.
They have another prime suspect. Given the location they were going to, though, it coudl be so many people now...as the website "choose your suspect" game indicates. I really like the show. But we've watched the British/Finnish/Danish, whatever type shows that this was modeled on for a while now. Wallander with Kenneth Branaugh was a great recent mini-series. I'm not 100% sold on the actual plot yet. Some of the story-lines I'm not completely down with - her impending marriage, her son, the continued depression of the mother (don't get me wrong, 100% understandable, but man are her scenes even slower and more depressing).
The last few episodes have been so dull compared to the pilot. The politics keeps dragging on, and I hope something actually comes out of it. So far, it seems so irrelevant to the murder.
so, is anyone still watching this. looks like everything is finally coming together, i know some of you may have dropped out after about four episodes. started really slowly
It's still a little slow. The cliffhangers need to be more dramatic, I think they should cut out all the crap (politics, FBI, Linden's family troubles) and focus more on the murder investigation. It's okay if they have a bit of other stuff, but they're overdoing it for me and it is killing the pacing of the show. I don't want the final episode to bring everything together all at once when it should be gradual to let the viewers know why certain plot stories are relevant.
I'm still watching and enjoying the show. No doubt the slow pace caused a lot of people to tune out. Usually I watch it a few days later on DVR. Last night was the first time in a couple of weeks I watched the DVR the same evening it aired.
Yeah I feel the same way. I didn't care for the last episode much, it was just too much non-case oriented stuff that didn't matter, too much personal crap. I'm still on the fence 8 episodes in, but I'll still probably keep watching even if I do begin to hate it cause I've got to know who the killer is.
side note: why does every adolescent teenage character on dramas need to be such a jerk. I liked the kid till what he did last night and his response.
Same here. I've already invested 8 episodes into this series, so I figure I'll keep watching through the season. There isn't much else on at that time slot, anyway. However, I think they've lost me for the 2nd season.
This show has many flaws (it's boring and humorless), but chief among them, there is simply no way poor misunderstood, harassed Muslims will be the killers. It just won't happen. A pathetically transparent attempt at misdirection.
