Those gay brothers whine so damn much...I hope they lose. And the black/white couple has been very lucky...I don't think they'll win, but I have a strange feeling they might pull it off.
How did the brothers do the Globetrotters wrong? I missed the start. Even if they agreed to work together, you can't expect one team to give the other team the answer. It's like when the white couple found the taxi after agreeing to work with the Globetrotters. Wrong is when the brothers stole the black couple's taxi.
He did it AGAIN. LOL at him being so quick to make her do the phone challenge. He didn't want any part of that, so he made his girl do it YET AGAIN. "I know you can do this!!" What a puss. I don't like the whiney brothers at all, but I agree that "working together" doesn't mean giving the answer. He told him the word started with an 'F', what else do you need? To just flat out tell him the answer would've been stupid. I liked the Globetrotters too, but it shouldn't have taken him that long to get that word. Especially knowing that the first letter was an 'F'. And to take a 4-hour penalty AFTER taking 3 hours trying to figure out the word was race suicide.
I only saw part of this episode, but once I say the letters, I knew it was Franz immediately. Come on, know a little history. Czechoslovakia, WWII, Franz Ferdinand. Plus weren't they giving X's for the number of letters he got wrong? He had the first letter, that leaves only 4 left. He should have gotten the word through process of elimination.
I hate that the Globetrotters went out like that, but how in the world does it take someone that long to unscramble a 5 letter word? At this point, I'm pulling for Megan and Shane. The other two teams just get on my nerves.
The Globetrotters were doomed once Flight Time allowed Big Easy to do this task. I like them very much and I feel bad for Easy because he obviously felt terrible, but Big Easy is kind of dumb. There were signs of this in previous challenges like the clock one. It was analog and the time read 8:35. So everyone came back and put in the the lock combo 8, 3, 5. Big Easy was stuck with 8, 7, for eternity and nearly gave up trying to break the lock. Once the annoying gay brother gave Easy "F" as the first letter, there were only 24 permutations remaining, but at that point in time Easy was ready to quit. Even if he gave him FR with only 6 possibilities left, I'm not sure Easy could have done it. His mind was blocked and he just didn't get it. Flight Time wasn't there to calm him and down and get him to think differently like during the lock combo challenge. This is similar to 3 seasons ago when the the final 3rd spot came down to the dumb frat brothers who were hanging on for life every stage (like the mixed couple) and then struck gold when the team ahead made a critical error. It was a mother-son team that was solidly in the lead when they came to a mental road block and the mom was tired so the son (who was kinda dumb like Big Easy) did it. It took forever and then he lost their passports. That was the year the brother-sister NY team dominated all the way through.
I thougth it was pretty ****ty of the gay guy to bail after saying they were working togehter. at that point how is he supposed to even know if he is telling the truth with the letter 'f'. either way it should have only taken a few minutes to figure out. the taxi cab stealing I have no problem with since they didn;t give their word. Hope they lose Now I hope the blonde couple win
agreed, the brothers are whiny little b****es and the beauty queen is too damn whiny also. Her husband seems a nice guy, how he puts up with her is beyond me. I hated when the trotters took the penalty, I knew right then and there they were doomed...no way they make that up..no way. They ran a good race, were nice guys the entire way...hated to see them go down like that.
Is it just me or does the blond chick annoy the living hell out of anyone else? If she talked to me like that I would strangle her.
No, I like her and that team a lot. I think the guy gets her to do some of the challenges, but maybe because they agreed to rotate on them..... DD
She would be annoying if the blond guy wasn't a whiny pansy, but the dude needs to turn in his man card. They got into a little argument before the hay challenge (the most physically demanding challenge on the show) and the dude just stays quiet when she asked him if he wants to do it. There is no switch agreement. Whenever there was a fun challenge, the dude was like "I'll do it", like racing the cars. Then there were statements he made saying that he doesn't think she'll weigh him down too much. Then there was the golf challenge where she wanted one thing and he wanted another and he got his way. This guy is a big puss. He is similar to the taller gay brother. I can see where she can sound annoying like she was talking down to him, but he was whining about carrying the gollum saying "it's too heavy" over and over again while she was trying to keep his spirits up. He gets all hardcore as a competitor and says his girl is too nice, but when it comes to the actual tasks, not cordial relations with the other teams, he actually is being carried by her. He's not totally incompetent like the deaf guy was, but Shane is still being carried by his partner.
I'd rather compete against the black couple than the Globetrotters so strategically it was to the brothers advantage not to work with the Globetrotters. If the black couple wins, they should thank the brothers...if the brothers help the Globetrotters, the black couple is eliminated, and Phil (whatever the host's name is) could have gone to bed. I cracked up when the Globetrotters started serving their penalty time it was pitch dark. When the time ended, it was daylight.
I'd agree that he is a whiny puss at times....BUT, they each have to do certain challenges, right? So she has to do some. Yes, he was all over the racing challenge - FUN - while nowhere in sight on the haystack challenge - HARD... BUT, they win practically every segment and are the clear favorites to win it all. Maybe he knows what he's doing? Out of 11 segments, they've won 6 times, and come in second 3 times. They've been either first or second 7 weeks in a row. They've already won a trip to Aspen, a trip to Jamaica, a trip to Hawaii, two watercraft, a sauna and now two 52 inch LCD TV's. They've now both completed 5 roadblocks. She's a strong teammate, and probably one of the strongest female teammates on the show in a while. She isn't whiny, b****y or generally incompetent like Ericka, who for some reason thinks she's all that. She has been given some physical challenges and works through them. She seems intelligent enough. But she does occasionally whine or get upset about some random stuff, and she plays too nice. The reason they dominate is because they are both young, smart and intelligent, but I think it somewhat clear that Cheyne and his amazing hair is the team leader. So it's kind of hard to fault his strategy so far. It's true. They were very entertaining to watch though. When I read the description on my DVR, I thought if Brian makes Ericka do this, they will be the ones taking the penalty (after all, it took her hours to basically count bells). But when Big Easy started, and Brian decided to do the challenge, it was clear the Globetrotters were doomed.
I don't hate the blond young couple. I actually called them as the team-to-beat to my girl weeks ago, when they came in 2nd on the chicken challenge irrc. I guess I understated his competitive value when I wrote that he wasn't dead weight. Cheyne is a solid competitor...not all that, but solid. Megan definitely is one of the strongest female competitors in the history of the show (mentally and physically). They're probably stronger than the Asian brother-sister duo that won it last year or two years ago, even if the blonds don't win it all. No one recently though has come anywhere close to the brother-sister combo from NY a few years ago. Being young, athletic, and smart seems to be key, as well as the hair I suppose. They've also avoided proven fatal Amazing Race flaws: picking the wrong task, not making the 1st [plane, being too stubborn, brain freeze, losing passport, switching tasks too many times, etc.
The brothers choked the $1 million by not being able to count $1 million in chips. Also, how embarassing they didn't know who Wayne Newton is. PS I wonder how much did editing make it look like Meghan and Cheyne were way behind the brothers during the hotel mixup. Cause it looked like they caught up pretty fast during the chip counting.
Megan and Cheyne definitely deserved to win. They dominated this race. There really was no close competition. Zev and Justin were a strong team, but were done in by the losing of their passport. Once they were gone, that was it. The brothers were able to get far based on their physical abilities, and Brian and Ericka just lucked into the finals. It's hard to compare teams from different seasons, but Megan and Cheyne were at least as dominating as any other past champion I think. Rob and Amber, the lawyers, Nick and Starr, the Hippies, etc. M & C were just so consistent, and consistently dominated. And why all the Cheyne hate? He was a great teammate and leader. IIRC, Megan was basically whining all up to the haystack challenge so he just let her back up her talk with her walk. I do agree that Megan is possibly the best female contestant (shoot, one of the best period) that has been on Amazing Race, but Cheyne was perfect at calming, motivating, leader her etc. He was very level headed (as was Brian). They were a very strong team. I think you were referring to Nick and Starr (the NY team) and I think M & C were certainly on that level. Obviously, I am glad they won. Ericka was a B, the Globetrotters were too stupid at times, the brothers fought too much (and were also stupid sometimes).
well they did show up last, so they were behind. i dont understand how the hell they finished the chip counting first. the other two teams must have submitted a few wrong answers that they edited out.
Anyone else think that was the worst AR finale ever? Repel off a building, say Hi to Wayne Newton and count a million in chips... Really, that's it?!?! There was really nothing to test what they've done for the entire trip, just count to a million.. Oh yeah I forgot about flower grabbing..
I think it's more embarrasing that the winners thought The Venetian or Bellagio was the famous casino in Monaco and that Monaco was in Spain.
