They need to man up Crixus as he was the unbeatable gladiator in season 1. Now he gets thrown around like a rag doll constantly. I'm thinking Asher kills onomaeus next week. I think it would be right, as ono basically played with him at the end of season one. Keep Asher around as long as possible, as he is a great heel.
His woman has made him weak. . Definitely too much Glabber Junior in the last episode. Still love this series and like others Gannecus is definitely my favorite thus far but only because Andy isn't Spartacus.
New Spartacus might not be no Andy, but the series has taken it up more then a couple notches this year. Of course Gannicus is everyone's favorite. His two jobs are killing and ****ing. Who wouldn't like that? The fight scenes are amazing! Big fan of that style personally. Can't wait for the season finale on Friday. Don't think I've looked this forward to to a last episode since end of Dexter season 4, end of Lost season 1, and end of Breaking Bad all seasons.
Crixus got wrecked pretty hard by Theokoles last season, not to mention sustaining pretty serious punishment from the Pompei champion and a brutal whipping after his affair was discovered. It kind of makes sense that he's not exactly Superman at this point. Plus the Egyptian guy is practically the Terminator. He chumped Oenemaus, too. I don't really have a favorite this season. I guess it's Gannicus just because his characterization is so fun. Looking forward to seeing who lives and who dies this week. I reckon that Sparty's pretty safe and that Glaber's gotta go.
Good point about Crixus. Dude was practically dead and is probably out of his prime. Same with Oenamaus. Both can whip you on any given night, but are not up there with Gannicus and Spartacus. Hope all of them survive this season, but I think Oenamaus is a gonner and so is Agron. Hope Ashur and Glaber die a slow painful death.
AGREED, i think Glaber dies... but Ashur simply cannot die, they need him moving forward. Hes my favorite villain. Im hoping Oenemaus does not die, we didn't really get to see much of him this season, and he was one of the driving forces of the prequel
Was that the season finale? Sure seemed like it. I'll be honest, this season sucked and I probably won't tune into the next. It just felt rush and like they've stopped caring about the intricate or subtle twists that benefitted the first season and made it so good. I guess the subject/focus has changed so much, it's hard to have them (only the women issues did this season). First season was a 9/10. The prequel was still quality, an 8/10. Vengeance was probably a 5/10 and dropped steadily towards the end. Oh well. Game of Thrones' second season starts Sunday!
I thought it was great. This season finale had so much in it with the battles and double crossing. Nothing was held back. Major characters killed off left and right. I'm going to miss Asher and his awesome **** eating grin. I can't wait for next season.
Its really the opposite. Its quite drawn out. We are hitting the fourth season, Spartacus doesn't even have an army (maybe a 100 men?) and Rome is not even taking him serious. The story of Spartacus has barely began.
I agree, they did a great job filling in all the gaps and closing all the storylines of the people they decided to kill off while also growing a fleshing out a few others. I just wish Asher would have somehow made it out, he was devious and very good for the show. I rate this season up with the 1st and as the new Spartacus gets accustomed to fighting and swordhandling I think he will start to look smoother in his fighting scenes.
It took some time for me to warm up to the new Spartacus because Andy was irreplaceable. The season finale was just so good, I don't know why they have to kill Doctore too, I want all the bad ass generals remain with Spartacus until the end.
Apparently because that's what happened in real life. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oenomaus_(rebel_slave) Overall it was a solid season of TV, the finale delivered pretty well, but not even close to the first season. Next season will be interesting though.
This season was mediocre at best. To me Batiatus was the star of the first two seasons. He was sorely missed this season. Were there new writers this season because the quality of the writing just seemed to drop off a cliff.
Finale was awesome. Enjoyed the season, took a few episodes to forget about Andy. Can't wait till next season. For now, game of thrones time.
IMO this season was absolutely UNBELIEVABLE! New Spartacus did just fine. His acting is pretty damn good. The foursome of Spartacus, Gannicus, Crixus and Agron in the finale was freakin awesome! Doctore, Mira, Ahsur, Illithiya, Glaber...so many great characters! Easily my favorite season of Spartacus so far.
I was curious if that was the finale. It sure seemed like one but 10 episodes is a fairly short season. I agree with most of you. Getting used to the new Sparty took a few episodes but once that happened the show returned to it's previous level of awesome. That big Egyptian ****head finally got his, and it was fitting that the snake Asher got decapitated by a woman. I was doing some studying on the third servile war, and this show should only improve from here. I can't want until next season. The final episode of this series should be epic if it plays out the entire war. Apparently 6,000 of Sparty's followers get crucified, lining the Appian Way from Rome to Capua.
They could have delayed it until a couple of episodes into the new season. Spartacus' army would look much more impressive with Oenomaus in it.
Oenomaus actually died after the fight with glaber, early on once Spartacus builds his true army, not just the rebels he controls now. But I did not mind the creative choice, not to mention not a whole lot is known about any of these guys
I kind of agree. It was watchable, but I liked the story line better when they were enslaved and gladiators.
