Yes, how could I forget Benny Hill. And also Monty Python on Channel 8 Saturday nights. Came on right after SNL was over.

There were a ton of shows I was late to the party on, but I'm only thinking of the ones that came on before my time for this thread.

This would seem like an easy show to make the list...but, if my memory serves me right, outside of the late 70s and early 80s, Sanford and Son never left! It has been running non-stop in syndication since the mid-80s...and is still as awesome as ever.

    The G stands for...great show!

I recall watching Benny Hill late one night on Channel 39. They weren't paying attention because out of nowhere a topless woman is tossing things out of a window. Full Frontal. On Channel 39! And to make it even weirder, the topless girl actually became famous.

I watched a little Miami Vice when it was an active show. Started really liking it several years after it ended. Love rewatching it now.

    Bushido...one of my favorite episodes.

My dad loved that show, so I watched it as a kid.

That episode was great, and I love the 2 with Willie Nelson as the retired Texas Ranger.

Never watched the show, but I recall it being the first TV show "In Stereo" on Channel 2, the theme song being a radio hit, and the Ferrari scandal.

Miami Vice and Beverly Hills Cop were the first 2 soundtracks I had on cassette? Not vinyl, but I may be forgetting something.

eta Fun Fact: Willie Nelson was/looked old enough to play an old retired Texas Ranger ~35 years ago.

That's a great call. Knew about it but never watched it until years later.

Yep, Benny Hill at 10 and Bizarre at 10:30 on channel 39. Both shows were famous for occasionally showing boobies.

Bizarre was my first introduction to Super Dave. IIRC, these were followed by The Odd Couple & Taxi.

I still think of myself with the MTM end cap on Taxi.
