Been watching Doomlands on Roku Channel. 10 minute episodes. There's a shocking amount of free content on Roku. If you have a tv with Roku embedded and set up the antenna, it will inject every free channel into the channel lineup, which is sort of a cool trick. If you're a cord cutter, I highly recommend it.
Surprisingly I did not eat many crab cakes, although I love them and I can't tell you why. Probably because the hole in the wall places I frequented did not have them.
I'm semi-laid-up with Covid (symptoms are pretty mild but not sleeping well so I'm tired and dumb) and started watching All of Us Are Dead on Netflix. It's a fairly good Zombie apocalypse show, you get to see the start and progression of the Zombie plague. High School bullies in Korea are hardcore.
I finally got around to Euphoria It is hilarious . . . QUESTION: Is this realistic of the modern suburban teen life???!?!?!?!?!?!? It plays out like alot of teen girl fantasy life story. (My friend says it is more accurate that I think . . . I am not convinced) I cannot take it seriously though Rocket River
I think I'm done with Billions. Once Axlerod left it rendered the entire cast purposeless. Replacing Axe with Prince in the way it was done makes me not give a **** about him, his family or any of his interests. I don't give a **** out the Prince list, I don't give a **** about the Olympic games in New York, his playing hard to get ex wife with her ambiguous Olympic ambitions or his children. All the employees at Axe Cap are just headless chicken time filler. Wendy is just there. Chuck running in place. Are is gone, he just attacks the new guy arbitrarily. The only character that has had any type of development is Sacker's fine ass but now she gets less camera time. There are four more episodes and then I'm out.
Have watched about 8 episodes of The Last Kingdom. It's not great. I'm surprised it has a 91% rating on RT. For those who have seen it, does it get better than what is happening on season 1? Or is it just more of the same?
Power Book IV: Force Nice pulpy crime show with sex, violence, drugs, and dark humor. Doesn't try to be high art, it's fine with being entertaining.
I just finished Station Eleven on HBOMax and that was some of the best TV I've seen in a long time. Not what I expected at all. https://www.vulture.com/article/station-eleven-hbo-max-series-review.html
I might be late to the Reacher train but it's been solid dinner TV watching in that it isn't too deep or overly dramatic, and also my wife likes it (or rather Reacher always taking off his shirt) so it's nice to find another series that we can watch together. Alan Ritchson plays Jack Reacher much better than Tom Cruise so if you liked the movies, you'll like the show.
Was thinking about starting this but could not figure out the tone. Is it sci fi, apocalyptic, end of the world all 3? I will eventually watch it but don't want to really get into a deep character drama, would like a bit more action. Edit. Just read the review it is what I thought it was not something I want to start at this point.
