I-Land is bad, 1/10. It's so bad they are stealing from Survivor's editing style. The characters are all evil so it's hard to root for anyone. Soooo much exposition. And really bad exposition. Still, I will watch it through to see if it goes anywhere. They just reveal too much too soon, but with no idea why.
Interestingly, I watched the Moscow Motley Crue concert the other night on YouTube filmed back in the 80s when they were peaking just after Shout at the Devil came out. Both Neil and Roth were never much for singing quality in concert. They were more for running around, interacting with the audience, and doing stuff on stage. I don’t think either could sing any of their songs accurately even if they really tried. I would pick DLR circa 1983.
That's what made me think of the comparison: they're both showmen who turned into clowns later in life. I'm also Team DLR, was never a big Motley Crue fan.
Just started The Umbrella Academy. First episode was entertaining. Will continue. Still impatiently waiting for The Boys and Stranger Things. Might watch Devs again.
Binged the entire 8 episode series of My Name on Netflix. If you like revenge + cat & mouse thrillers this is for you. Highly recommend it.
Wished they had more girls under the covers. Dang, those fighting scenes tho. Netflix must have a big budget. I somehow sympathize with Choi. Spoiler Korean Gangster/Police Noir.
Just finished The Blacklist season 8. Not sure how much I want to see the new season without Liz Keen. I saw some of S9E1 and Dembe as a FBI agent turned me off.
was watching season 2 of Locke and Key. Pretty good. Definitely a darker season than the 1st. Satisfying ending for the finale though. Seems like it'll be setup well for a 3rd season.
American Rust on Showtime, it took a few episodes but I like it, season finale is Sunday, Jeff Daniels is really good in this
We're still watching hoping they'll finally reveal if Red is Liz's father (or mother?). I'm thinking they won't.
Spoiler I read one article that suggested the current Reddington is actually Liz's real mother. Doesn't make any sense to me when you consider the relationships they've shown Red to have...but it's an interesting theory.
It's a great book, I hope the TV version is better than what they did with his other novel (Phillip Meyer, The Son)
Having just finished The Many Saints of Newark (yawn) I kind of want to rewatch the sopranos. It’s also about time to rewatch The Wire for like the 6th time.
