Aww I thought it was sweet. Speaking of Six Feet Under, did you catch Jeremy Sisto (Billy Chenowith) as Katie Holmes future boyfriend? (The Creek finale takes place 5 years from now). I thought that was pretty funny.
Actually, I've only watched the first season on DVD, which is why I don't read any six feet under threads because I'll always be two seasons behind unless I pay for HBO...
Dawson's Creek Spoilers below!!! I'll admit...I watched Dawson's Creek for the last few seasons primarily because of Joey so I could gawk at her good looks and all that comes with that package, including her talent . I guess I didn't quite get the ending of the finale. I thought towards the end when Dawson and Joey were having their little "we are soulmates" talk and declaring their love for each other that it would be they that ended up together. But, she had a similar talk and had been hanging around Pacey more in the finale than anyone else prior to that. Their talk was more of Pacey being "in the wrong place at the wrong time" but they both said they loved each other and Pacey said he could do without as it was enough to just love her. I thought Joey was just saying she loved Pacey more like a "I love you as a person and friend" thing but you could still see the sparks flying between them. But, the sparks were also flying between Joey and Dawson every time they were together although they weren't into the "touch and feel" flirting like Joey and Pacey were exhibiting(I should have known who she would have ended up with based on that). I still thought it would be Dawson and Joey because Joey said she knew who she belonged with from the very beginning and you would think that was always Dawson. So, what happens? Snapshot into Dawson's show which called "The Creek" and is basically "Dawson's Creek" with the same people but different names. The finale in "The Creek" Dawson(the head writer) decided on was Joey and Dawson ending up together as they kissed in Dawson's bedroom. Then, they show Pacey and Joey together watching "The Creek" finale and Joey lays a big kiss on Pacey and they call Dawson in Hollywood to congratulate him on his "The Creek" finale. So, Joey and Pacey ultimately ended up being together and Dawson ended up being in show business without Joey. I guess I didn't really see how it would end up that way. But, Dawson did say to Joey in their final heartfelt talk that they would always be together with their soul mate connection and all. So, I guess that basically meant that was the greenlight for Joey and Pacey because Joey and Dawson were more like brother/sister or something or had each other all figured out already so it was too comfortable. Even when they were apart, they were always together in spirit or something. Hehe...so she ended up with Pacey who destroyed her at their own prom by blasting her in front of the high school because he was inferior and she was superior, he was dumb and she was smart, he was a nobody going nowhere and she was a somebody going somewhere, etc. . Pacey ends up with a restaraunt which he couldn't possibly have financed. Joey finally stops running and ends up with Pacey. Hmm...did I pretty much nail it. If so, then Dawson is a loser. Hehe....he lost the love triangle after all these shows. Hooray. Also, you would think the finale could have been a little more upbeat. My God man...how much depression does a finale need.
I didn't like the finale or the final couple of seasons for that matter, but the closing narration was the best: ------------------------------- Looking Back with Wonder from "The Wonder Years" episode "Independence Day" (series finale) written by Bob Brush Adult Kevin/Narrator (voice over): Once upon a time there was a girl I knew, who lived across the street. Brown hair, brown eyes. When she smiled, I smiled. When she cried, I cried. Every single thing that ever happened to me that mattered, in some way had to do with her. That day Winnie and I promised each other that no matter what, that we'd always be together. It was a promise full of passion and truth and wisdom. It was the kind of promise that can only come from the hearts of the very young. The next day Winnie and I came home. Back to where we'd started. It was the 4th of July in that little suburban town. Somehow though, things were different. Our past was here, but our future was somewhere else. And we both knew, sooner or later, we had to go. It was the last July I ever spent in that town. The next year, after graduation, I was on my way. So was Paul. He went to Harvard, of course. Studied law. He's still allergic to everything. As for my father...well...we patched things up. Hey, we were family. For better or worse. One for all...and all for one. Karen's son was born in that September. I gotta say, I think he looks like me. Poor kid. Mom, she did well: business woman, board chairman, grandmother...cooker of mashed potatoes. The Wayner stayed on in furniture. Wood seemed to suit him. In fact he took over the factory two years later....when dad passed away. Winnie left the next summer to study art history in Paris. Still we never forgot our promise. We wrote to each other once a week for the next eight years. I was there to meet her, when she came home, with my wife and my first son, eight months old. Like I said, things never turn out exactly the way you planned. Growing up happens in a heartbeat. One day you're in diapers; next day you're gone. But the memories of childhood stay with you for the long haul. I remember a place...a town...a house like a lot of other houses... A yard like a lot of other yards...on a street like a lot of other streets. And the thing is...after all these years, I still look back...with wonder. [Fade to black] Young Boy (voiceover): Hey dad, wanna play catch? Narrator (voiceover): I'll be right there.
Keeley, who has got to be the only bbs member with a lower post-count to member-number ratio than yours truly, makes an appearance to talk about the friggin' Wonder Years??? What is the world coming to.... For the record, damn I thought Winnie was smokin' hot back in the day. Edit: I thought the Wonder Years was a great show with a great finale. I'm not doggin' it. Just making fun of a Moderator.
i agree...that last narration is just fantastic...a great ending for that series. i didn't grow up in the 60's...but i can certainly relate to those sentiments.
I'm not remembering them....who were they? And I was like 12 or 13 the first time I saw Winnie. hubba-hubba.
Whatever happened to the actress who played Winnie? I haven't seen her around. All I could think watching "The Wonder Years" back in the day was Winnie was going to grow up to be an ultra-hottie. In the final few years of the series, she started to blossom via puberty. What a sight that was...Winnie sprouts! Good old Kevin couldn't get enough of her after that. Or, what about that chick Kevin met and hooked up with whenever they went on those outings to the lake. Whatever happened to that cutie? WHERE ARE THEY NOW? Last I saw of Kevin was Austin Powers with that huge mole on his face! That was hilarious. It would have been even more hilarious if Winnie showed up as his girlfriend. I guess they should have thought of that...huh?
Madeline was this hot, sultry chick who wanted to do Kevin really bad, but he wussed out and turned her down. If I remember correctly, she was Wayne's girlfriend. I could be wrong about that, though. Becky Slater was Kevin's girlfriend for a little while. She was short and blond, with freckles.
Not a series finale, but the season finale of That 70's Show rocked. I wonder how the show will change now that the gang is in Madison. Writing out Red and Kitty (especially Red) would be the end of the show. Not seeing them walk was a real disappointment, but the end made up for it.
Wonder Years factoid! The guy who played Paul Pfeiffer (Josh Saviano) now goes to Cardozo Law School in NYC. I know this because he's in my fiancee's graduation class.
I used to also have the biggest thing for good old Doogie Howser's woman back in the day. I wonder what happened to her as well. I don't think good old Doogie ever made it to second base with her during the entire series run.
are you kidding? they had sex...that was the big deal remember? that responsible doogie howser was having sex...there was an uproar over that.
Oh I must have forgot. It's been a long while since the show went off the air. Sorry I didn't make it stand out more in my mind. Doogie did bang her. Okay.
Winnie's been on the West Wing this past season. And she's also a brilliant mathematician in real life. I'm not kidding.
Doogie did it doggie style? whoa.. i didnt know he had it like that ...but the doc sure got skilllssssssss
