    it's been three years since i worked there, sorry. is it really that bad? eh, AIG pays out all BestBuy's service contracts, so it could happen.

    The only low end brand they sell is Insignia which is basically LG. so its not truly low end.

    Akai is a cheapo chinese brand. Best Buy would never touch any brands that would cause them to lose money on returns or service plans.

    A 42inch HDTV doesn't cost that much. I would buy a new TV.
    you can get a quality HDTV for <$1000
