this is kinda out the topic but after watching that video of the rockets 2005. notice how they do the hand with the 3 fingers shaking thingy everytime they make threes. tahts team unity LOL
If MJ goes to other teams because Rockets didnt offer the same money as them, the WIN-NOW is totally BS. MJ is the best free agent left for Rockets. Who is the plan B for starting SG? Marcus Banks is PG. Bonzi Wells is too expensive. Fred Jones is not a much better SG than Head. Jared Jeffries is a forward.
Odds are he is NOT coming to play for the Rockets. Just take it and move on. Just like the trade to end all trades I and II. The trade for MJ and Rafer was all business and fit and as such, if I was MJ, I wouldn't come back since I didn't "fit" last year according to the team. The big questions is what other players to get. Mike is not going to end up in Houston. Not upset because in a way, he really didn't fix as the pg or the tall sg we need. He shots well but he want's $$$ which he does deserve but this team is not ready to pay.
Doc Rocket says no worries. I'm off to bed. Thank you, Doc--I've been hoping you'd chime in sometime on this stuff!!!
Dude... THANK YOU... Honestly some people may think it doesn't work but I'm a firm believer of it working. It shows that the real fans care... The ones that can walk up and say..."Come back, we can really use you in our uniform..." They appreciate that... Well at least most of them do...
Check out this: http://www.dallasbasketball.com/home_display.asp - Interesting perspective from Mavs' camp...
The reason he was traded was because Sura became injured and the Rox were desperate for a starting Point Guard, CD said that if he had had his way James would still be on the team, but circumstances forced his hand. There was no mention about James NOT FITTING!!!!!!!!
There's still apparently talk going on between the Raptors and Heat. Miami is apparently dangling James Posey, who makes over $6 mil per season. Even id Miami is only offering 3 years (like everyone else), they could still exceed $20 mil, allowing James to maybe milk another contract in 3 years. $20 mil for 3 year + $10 mil for 3 more years (in 2009) adds up to more money than he's looking at today, plus it's a good shot at snagging another ring. The Raps would do this because Posey not only fills out the depth at the 2/3 spots, but his deal is for only one year, putting the Raps back into a decent cap position next summer.
MJ was traded because he was NOT a passing PG. A shooter with some passing skills. He's now shot good enough to pass as a SG but he's still a little short if he guards the big 2s in the league. And if he is back as the starting PG, WTF for trading him away in the first place!!!!!! What we don't need to pass inside anymore??? And if MJ is the starting PG, will he pass enough to get everyone involved? If he is now the SG, is he capable of guarding the 2s in the league? Face it, regardless if they said it or not, MJ didn't fit the PG mode for this team and was shipped out for a supposed better fiting PG. No ifs or buts. If he was able to replace Sura he should have been the starting PG. Question is, where will he start if he signs with the Rockets. PG or SG? Doesn't matter? As long as he is making baskets right
It seems like James is getting himself and family into a very stickey wicket!! He is building his dream home in Houston and will live here with his wife and young children. If he has led the Rockets on he will be despised and known here by his dealings with the Houston Rockets. It sounds like a bad move to ruin your reputation with your neighbors and have to live among them in your dream home. His Kids willl have to go to schools and will have to carry his black mark. His wife won't be able to shop without people pointing fingers. You know that in these ritzy places where the NBA players build their homes, his negative reputation could cause him to be austrasized by society. Very unchristian but thats the way of things in the USA. Mike make things easy on yourself and come back to us. The Houston Fans would just love to see you win a championship here in your home town. I bet your children would just love to be able to come downtown and see their daddy play.Mark Cuban doesn't really need you, he's just afraid that with you we will beat them out of the playoffs!!
You are exactly right, Cuban is like the spoiled kid who hoards all the toys just so the other kids can't play. Shrewd on his part, but infuriating to a purist basketball fan who loves a level playing field... I guess the rich only want to get richer, and if it keeps the middle class teams down then that is an added bonus...
1. Look at the math again, the MLE amount is not disclosed yet, I'm not sure when it will but the projected range was between 5 and 5.5 mil-- probably closer to the 5 than the 5.5. 4 MLE = 22.5 mil if MLE = 5 mil 23.2 if MLE= 5.15 mil 23.65 if MLE=5.25 mil 24.78 if MLE = 5.5 mil 5 year with the TE (there is a 100K allowance, so it can starts at 4.3)= 26.51 mil. The 5 year MLE = 29.3 mil if MLE = 5 mil, 30.2 mil if MLE=5.15 30.8 mil if ML = 5.25 32.3 mil if MLE= 5.5 mil That's quite a range of possibilities... that 5 year TE deal would be merely OK if the MLE comes out at 5 mil, and not so attractive if the MLE comes out near 5.5. With the 4 year MLE deal being most likely only 2 or 3 mil less than the 5 year TE deal, and MJ likely able to make up the difference as a free agent by the end of the 4th year (or 3rd year, if there is a player option)-- but he risks injury... There 5th year TE deal isn't bad, but isn't much better, either. 2. Feigan's latest article leads me to believe that none of the 3 teams have budged from their latest reported offer of 4 year MLE (or 5 year with the HOU TE). It makes perfect sense for them not to show any preference at all. If Dallas or Minny know HOU has matching rights on anything they offered, they have more of a chance to drop out of the game, leaving this a one-buyer market, which is bad for business. I think HOU's chance of getting James is still pretty good.
this guy is straight up playin us. he is gonna sign with dallas and we are gonna be left high and dry with no free agents to sign. its time for cd to focus his attention on someone else like bonzi
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet... but if James signs with the Timberwolves, Marcus Banks would immediately become available. Not so James signs with Dallas. I think everyone here would prefer that if James doesn't sign with Houston, he signs with Minnesota, not Dallas.
I'm still hoping that Mike James' WIFE can persuade him to stay in Houston. There's nothing that would make up a man's mind better than his wife.
