Agreed. It has improved A LOT since that cookie cutter cliched procedural villain-of-the-week crap it started out as. It's now incorporating more characters from the Marvel universe, has become serialized with a continuing storyline, and finally done a good job of developing its characters so their interactions are actually interesting. The continuing mystery and revelations about Coulson's recovery and who, or what, Skye actually is have proven intriguing and the tie ins to the films are surprisingly seamless now. At this point I'd say that if you're a fan of this genre and shows like Arrow and jumped out on AOS early on, it may be time to jump back in. It's finally turning into the show we'd hoped it would be.
I hope so, I've dvr'ed the episodes I haven't watched, about one after I last posted here, and just can't bring myself to find the time. Maybe I'll dust them off and try again.
So it finally started being good? Do I have to watch the other episodes of this season to understand where it is now? I stopped after the 3rd episode or so.
This show has moved up to spectacular. People who gave up early, really need to start watching again. We'll see if they can keep it up, but holy crap the last few episodes have been good.
I watched 5 episodes and passed on it. Very boring to me. But I want to know what happens in the last episode. Is there a major shift change due to the Capatain America movie? Just interested in the storyline.
Skip ahead to about episode 10, because yes it started extremely slow, I nearly quit watching myself. It sure as hell isn't boring now. No more case of the week, every episode actually builds on the last. And yes the last 2 episodes took place during Captain America, and certainly changed the game. Major character revelations.
Spoiler Basically, just a bunch of HYDRA agents and Shield agents killing each other trying to guess who is who.
Tonight's episode was a great follow up to The Winter Soldier. Awesome twist at the end. HYDRA is in full effect.
Damnit. I was really hoping this would flop, but it continues to take up an hour of my life every week it's on. I'm a sucker for cheap entertainment, and this has certainly fit the bill and then some. Like I said in the CA2 thread, it would take a huge stinker to make me not interested in anything involving the Avengers franchise. Can't wait for the next episode. Spoiler That being said, am I the only one kinda weirded out by the Ward/Skye love angle? I mean, I kinda expected it from the first episode since they are the 2 best looking people on the show... but ever since then, they've made him out to be much older, like a 35 year old 'uncle' figure. And they've portrayed her like a high schooler. The whole thing just feels really weird and forced. There was seemingly no sexual attraction the entire series, and now this? dafuq?
Ah crap so I have to catch up on this thing, I gave up on this show a few weeks ago. Before Bill Paxon's appearance....
Spoiler I am guessing that Ward is not really evil. Will not be surprised to discover that Coulson and Hand conspired with Ward to trick Garrett into believing Ward is on Hydra's side, and that Hand (and the other two security dudes) are not really dead, and that it was a ruse to gain Garrett's confidence. Thus, Ward will be on the inside of Hydra, able to help Coulson root them out. That's my prediction anyway - as to how long it will take for all that to play out, who knows? Maybe not even until next season.
Spoiler Yeah, I'd say there's a 0% chance that Ward is actually Hydra. However it will play out, I don't know. But he's too handsome to suddenly turn bad on this show.
Agents of Shield determined the clairvoyant was in Shield. Clairvoyant comes out of hiding tearing Shield apart. Captain America stops Clairvoyant and people helping Clairvoyant. It is very difficult to determine who is with Shield and who is a plant.
Guess I gotta get back into this show. The last episode I saw was the one where the hacker chick sexed up with her old hacker friend lol. It was slow and boring, good to hear that it is getting better
They really shot themselves in the foot with the the first half of the season, because it was a snoozefest. It is clear now they were stalling because they had to wait for Captain America to come out. They should have done something better to keep people's attention, because once someone decides they don't like a show it's hard to get them back. Maybe go to the well of superheroes or villains for a small placeholder arc while they wait. Hope Ward is actually Hydra , but like you I think he's some kind of plant or brainwashed. He didn't just shoot hand, he shot her 3 times point blank, hard to imagine Bill Paxton wouldn't have noticed if it were faked.
Recent episodes have been great, I suspect it has to do with events that cross/lead into the movie universe. Spoiler About Ward: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FakeDefector
