Weapon used to take out the rebels was from Serenity, but yeah the cargo bay kind of brings back memories of Firefly. Also, they call their ship a bus; Mal called his ship a boat. But the casting for Firefly was great. The casting for SHIELD leaves something to be desired. Not a fan of Brett Dalton and Chloe Bennet. In general, that crew is too young and pretty. They call to mind this Mad TV skit: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ZH6OUmsPA0I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
There are two: What happened to Coulson after he was stabbed through the heart with a spear and what is Skye up to?
I'm with Bull. I think it has some underlying things going on just fine. Knowing Whedon, the "main" arc won't pick up until the halfway through the first season point. Can't wait. I'm having fun with the show so far.
No one talking about SHIELD today? It's still not a "must-watch" show by any means, but it's comic book type stuff. I thought the 3rd episode was pretty good. Spoiler At least we have what might turn out to be a super villain. And let's not forget this. Possibly NSFW Spoiler
at the end i thought, silver surfer? hah hah. then i was like nvm. silver surfer came from another planet also, chloe. HNNNGGGGG
Spoiler The villain they introduced is a big one in the Avenger universe, Graviton. His origin story is different in the comics but I like the spin they gave to him this past episode.
Gravitron! I knew Whedon wouldn't have his hands on a license like this & not dip into it. Looking forward to where they go with this.
Chloe Bennett is younger so currently she has that edge but otherwise I find them both very similar. When I first saw Agents of Shield I thought Chloe was Eliza Dushku.
I think the cast will eventually turn out great. Personally, I had no idea who any of the Firefly cast were, except for Fillion and Tudyk. Whedon is great in casting relatively unknown people, and propelling them to known commodities. (i.e Adam Baldwin in Firefly, then Chuck). Whedon definitely knows what he's doing, especially when it comes to casting people. "Simmons" in FitzSimmons, to me, overacts. I think she needs to tone it down. Regardless, it'd be great if we see Ron Glass or Cobie Smulders in upcoming episodes. The latter probably won't happen, but Glass would be greatly welcomed.
It just seems like a villain of the week type thing with a couple overall ar s that might be addressed every few episodes. I'm just not at all interested in that type of show
The VOTW is not a big thing. This is opening up the MARVEL universe to bring lesser known characters and important people into the mix without having to spend a ton of money on a movie. I enjoy watching it to see the new things they will unveil each week. I expect maybe a new hero or two to be revealed by the end of the season hopefully.
Third episode was better than the first too but it's the kind of show I could watch while doing something else. I know people keep bring up Joss but his brother and wife are the ones writing most of the episodes.
As expected, ABC picked the order up for a full 22 episodes: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/20...Twitter&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitter
