I don't like jimmy fallon at all and will probably never watch this show after the 10 minutes I watched today, but he'll likely get better than this.

The key to being a good late night host is to be as understated as possible.

Fallon has never struck me as being that kind of guy,

Pretty rough start and while I have never really liked Fallon much I can kinda see him improving enough to make it work. Absolutely brutal interview with DeNiro.

    quite an awful start.

overloading the show with bits in its debut is a bad idea, in my opinion. his comedy is too forced, and unnatural. he isn't a good interviewer, and if he keeps on pushing for a laugh with every single question or response to the guest, it's going to be unbearably awkward.

Slow Jam the news was good. Space Train made me laugh. The monologue was ok.

DeNiro is a tough interview for anybody, not a good idea to start off with him and then to acknowledge his reputation as a tough interview. Don't rehash previous SNL bits ever again, even though I really enjoyed Barry Gibb TS back in the day.

Seriously! DeNiro sells tickets, but a ****e interview.

So is the concensus that this sucked it?

Timberland had to save his own interview...Fallon just seemed nervous and lost. It'll probably get better though.

So did Fallon resort to the fake "not being able to control my laughter" shtick like he relied on during his SNL days?

Damn Fallon was a nervous wreck on his own show. He kept forgetting his lines and saying, "ummmm I forget what I was gona say."

It was pretty hard especially when he started to sweat during the interviews, OUCH!

I doubt I'll watch it again...

The show had its rough patches but there is only potential to get better... Fallon was obviously super nervous. He isn't my favorite person but things could be a lot worse.

Yea...Fallon needs to find his comfort zone. It will come. He needs better skits than "Lick for Ten", "Space Station", and "Blonde Demographic". Those were all horrible IMO.

I think it has potential but Fallon has to stay more composed and not be quite so star-struck. He stumbles over his words like a 12-year old girl meeting the Jonas Brothers for the first time.

If he can get better with that he'll be ok I think. It's good that he's genuinely happy with what he's doing, but he's got to be more under control.

You know what would have been funny...if Fallon pulled out his old SNL couples trick where they would be talking and then go off on each other in a make-out session. Except, he did it with that chick who licked the copier. Instead of her doing that, he says a line to her, grabs her, and makes out with her fast and furious like SNL. Then, go on to the next guy...except he has to lick an actual goldfish by grabbing one with a little net and pulling it out of the tank.

I guess I was expecting a little more raunchiness to that skit. Incorporate those ideas and I thought it would have worked great. Oh yea...the first guy licking the lawn mower should have been licking the used blades by turning over the lawnmower with some sexy music playing like he was prepping to seduce the lawnmower. :D

I can come up with better than that skit with the same characters and physical objects! Add to that a stripper doing a routine on a stripper pole and licking the pole...and we have a great skit! Bada Boom!

Who is Timberland? The music producer was scheduled to appear? And if so, isn't his name Timbaland?
