Is TBS the channel with all the really crappy comedies where they say "Very Funny" in the promos?

Is Arian Foster a fan of Conan like David Anderson? Just hit me when Conan did that bow...

I thought about that a few weeks ago, but I don't think that's the case.

I mean The Tonight Show was better. Late Night was better than that.

I will watch his show but the fact is the quality has gone downhill.

he needs skits, hopefully that picks up. his monologue was never the greatest, other than that it seemed pretty typical like before. i think hes screwed mainly because he has to compete with stewart/colbert. im sure he's biding his time until letterman leaves though.

That wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. First show after the NBC debacle, I thought they were going to break the budget for this one episode and then settle in. This looked like just a run of the mill episode. Where was the confetti, craziness, better guests?

    Monologue was good though.

I like Conan, but it's just a talk show.

I was hoping that the move to TBS would loosen Conan up a bit. Without having to appeal to an insanely broad audience, like the Tonight Show demanded, he could go back to doing what he did during Late Night; irreverent, hilarious comedy.

Re-watching some of Conan's Late Night episodes gives you the feeling that they were never genuinely sure that anybody was watching and, if they were, they could find what he did funny or not. He didn't need to tone it down. It's only when he feels that people are actually watching, like Tonight and Conan, that he loses some of that edge.

I think this has promise. I worry about him going head-to-head against Stewart/Colbert and Adult Swim, but I think that with lowered ratings expectations, he can do it. I just wish they would have opened with tomorrow's line-up instead of tonight. All three guests fell flat (have never been a Jack White guy).
