I have a hard time seeing Joel McHale without picturing his Soup show. I'll probably will give it a shot though.
i'll give it a shot tonight as for Parks and Rec I dont like that show at all I tried watching the first couple of eps and didnt like it, it has some moments but they are too few.
I love Parks and Recreation, I thought it was even funnier than the office towards the end of last season. I am gonna tune in to this show tonight as well. Fringe will have to wait for hulu tomorrow.
If it weren't for writers of The Daily Show and Colbert Report getting hired away by the big networks, there would be nothing but reality shows on TV. I really need HBO... network TV sucks.
I thought it was pretty bad. I'll give it another chance before I stop watching, but I was pretty disappointed by the pilot
Wow. I seem to be alone in actually liking the pilot. Really liking it in fact. I thought it was clever and well-written. The dialogue is rapid-fire and there is a constant stream of quick one-liners and throwaway jokes. Mchale is charming, I love John Oliver from the Daily Show and I think the two of them have great chemistry. The asperger's guy had some great lines, and the main girl is decent looking and seems at least competent in her comedic delivery. Honestly, I think that was the best pilot I've seen in a while and am looking forward for more. I do wonder how they can sustain the "study group" situation, since the nature of college and especially community college is constant turnover of classes and students. But let's see how they handle this year first.
I thought I did too. Turns out I only love him when he's doing satirical news reports and interviews. His character in The Community didn't do anything for me, unfortunately. They need a much bigger dose of Chevy Chase if I'm going to watch this thing with any regularity.
No, me too. It was well-written / -paced. Promising. I did think the Aspy comparing the lead character's cockiness to "Stripes...every Bill Murray movie" was especially cool, considering Bill Murray and Chevy Chase once got into a fistfight on the set of SNL, and Murray supposedly screamed to Chase, mid-scuffle, "You're a medium talent!" Here, just about thirty years later, Bill Murray is considered (even by the writers of the show) a film god, and Chevy Chase is doing a supporting character on a sitcom.
I thought the show showed promise, too. I really haven't liked anything Chevy Chase has been involved in over the past 20 years, but I actually liked his character last night. Oh, and I like me some Gillian Jacobs:
