[tv] Clyde Drexler to be in next Dancing With The Stars

I don't recall Clyde having rotator cuff problems while he was playing. Anybody else? Is this just his excuse-of-the-week before performing?

 

I think he did really well last night. I just watched it on the abc.com online thing ... he danced third, so you don't have to go through a bunch of people to see it.

He still had some arm issues, but his footwork was great. Now if we can get him to smile more when they show him standing there! LOL

He always looks so serious.

 

WOW! The power of ClutchFans. Clyde is saved until next week. Now I can watch something else.

 

I was just going to report in and say... exactly the same thing! There has to be a good game on league pass tonight!

 

Wow. I'm glad he made it... and I read some of the abc message boards for the show, it looks like they're out to get Shandi and then Heather Mills next, so Clyde may have the time to get warmed up just as needed...

There ya go! Look at how high she is trying to get her arms. They need to find a taller dancer for Clyde's match. Though she's been doing a good job with his choreography.

 

Clyde looks like he's in a lot of pain. How he got the shortest girl in the pool is beyond me. His fan base will keep him in for a while but, hes no Emitt or Jerry Rice.
This is not his thing.
But, did you see the cute little 18 yr old dancing with Appolo WOW.

 

Due to the fact that Reality TV usually isn't reality, I'm not surprised the producers went after the largest height disparity they could. They want to emphasize how tall Clyde is and how it can be a hinderance. Just like I don't think Heather Mills would even be on the show if she had two legs.

Anyway, she's from Salt Lake City and has 10 brothers and sisters. Probably a Morman and a Jazz fan. STAY AWAY!!!

 

I haven't watched a single episode of this yet, but has there been any hip-hop dances?

 

I don't think she's the shortest, all of the female professionals are about the same height.

Clyde was TERRIBLE last night.

He got the worst scores of the evening (I think, I stopped watching after he danced).

He got a 5/10, 4/10, and 5/10 from the 3 judges, if I remember correctly.

He got RIPPED by the judges saying it looked like he didn't even care and wasn't trying. One of the judges cracked that there was better chemistry between Rosie O'Donnell and Donald Trump than Clyde and his dance partner. lol.

The worst part of the show IMHO was when they showed Clyde "practicing." He is such a dang slacker! He first showed up late to practice and then was shown yawning 3-4 times and laying down on th floor for his self-initiated rest. He came off looking like a real loser. Step it up Clyde!

I know its just a stupid reality TV show but you are embarassing yourself.

oh, I almost forgot: Clyde threatened to fight one of the judges after the show in the parking lot.

 

didnt catch the results last night....did he get put out of his misery and get eliminated or is he going to have to work another week and perform next monday?

Nah, he's safe, he wasn't even one of the two couples with the lowest overall scores. Guess there's a lot of fan votes still supporting him.

Like Matador said, Clyde's dance and the training attitude was terrible. I think that's his mother in the audience.... I think I saw Reggie Miller and Chris Mullin there too?

During the results show he complained some more.... When he got voted in, his reaction and body language was something that seemed to show he was surprised and disappointed at the same time.

 

Yeah that was his mother, she was featured in last weeks episode "bio section" because she is a Calypso (sp?) dance trainer. She was cute when they asked how she thought Clyde was doing she said he was... doing okay... and getting better. lol

As for the not trying thing... its pretty easy to edit a video to make it look a lot worse than he actually was. We aren't there for every practice, you only see a minute of a week's worth of rehearsals.

I am hoping he does step it up a bit in the next dance... and hopefully he isn't doing the rumba.. that could get messy!

 

******* she is hot for a 50 year old. and when it comes to Clyde dance, I'd rather watch paint dry...on my eyes.

 

The show sucks, but it's hilarious that Clyde's M.O. is finally catching up to him. The dude always stayed in shape but was always late to games. Clyde was a champion under Rudy T, but would be in JVG's doghouse. Then there's the whole quiting on UH thing...or am I remembering that wrong?

 

Our Clyde got voted off today. I didnt watch the show but from what I read it seems like he was not showing effort and he was halfassing everything. It seems like his heart wasnt in it(i know that sounds gay lol) and he didnt want to be there. Probably since the playoffs are coming around and he didnt want to miss any games due to it. You know our Clyde has the heart of a champion in him
