This turned out to be pretty good Sci-fi. In the last two episodes Halle Berry runs a lot. She is as bowlegged as a cowboy and her knockers sway like pendulums.
It is interesting but needs more intensity. Right now it is just ok . .. . fluff ish I think they have to ramp it up I dunno if this latest twist will be enough Rocket River
The Offspring's body count is up to like 20. You scream and scream when it sucks out your life force.... intensity? But it is just a modern take on a 60's sci-fi. movie, no doubt. The kid playing the robot is great.
This series ended so sh!tt!ly. The ending was so predictable and a little too happy happy joy joy I stayed to the end FOR THAT The Acting got worse as it went along . . . Thank Goodness the STRAIN is still on . .. . If this returns next year. . . i will not be watching Rocket River
I don't know, maybe RR is just jaded or Avatar was his first impression of Science Fiction, but for me, as a kid who grew up on Asimov and Heinlen and 60's sci-fi like The Thing and The Blob, Extant was pretty good. The themes of the moral issues surrounding sentient machines and the value of their lives versus human life, curiosity and terror meeting extraterrestrial life, even the worth of scientific advancement are old standards that appear in almost every version of the genre. The art and production values were top notch for TV, Halle Berry looked awesome, the kid actor that played the Ethan was terrifically understated. I thought it was an enjoyable 12 hours of entertainment. I would be satisfied if they left it as a one time mini-series and didn't try to make it a series out of it. But you do have aliens loose on the planet and a new benevolent Skynet so I see the potential stories. So if you like 'idea' based sci-fi and don't need million dollar CGI explosions every ten minutes I suggest you give it a try.
You did not find it the least bit predictable? The interesting characters were removed two episodes ago. They did little to cultivate a sense of danger at any point. . . .. Rocket River
Not more predictable than most every other movie book or play that has ever been written. Everything is not Game of Thrones or Cormac McCarthy, protagonist live and hope is restored. And the Kryger character was the one that was overacted in his every scene. I was glad when he dropped off. It was enjoyable TV, like blowing through paperback book.
