Let's say Issacs bangs his son's tennis coach and marries her. Does this make him a cheater/polygamist or has he found some awesome loophole? Obviously this question is about to come forth on the show.
I just watched a trailer of this series, and i was IMPRESSED. WOW. Have to catch an episode soon. The production for this series makes it look like an actual movie.
Just watched the latest episode with the serial killer. I'm even more into this show now with them introducing the idea that he'll be moving to Oregon in one world and staying in L.A. in the other (though I don't believe it will happen considering the actors that would have to be dropped). This, combined with him having a serial killer nemesis in one world and also the fact that his wife/son's death wasn't exactly an "accident" and seems to have been at least partially engineered by his boss has made this show one of my faves. Me, enjoying a police procedural show (with more continuity than usual) on friggin' Network TV. Wonders never cease.
I like Awake but will it survive? I have the last 3 episodes on DVR but there is no point in watching if the show is canned.
Probably won't last. Latest episode got a 1.0 share in 18-49 demo, which is absolutely horrible. This is sad. If the show was on AMC, it'd be getting all kinds of hype. As it is, folks keep telling me they've heard the good word of mouth, but just haven't gotten around to watching it because it's NBC and they expect it to be pretty tame/boring. I think the Network TV model is dying. Even the old stalwarts have been slipping in the ratings lately.
It woud be a shame if this series got cancelled. Havent given up on it and tonight's episode was exactly why it's so incredibly good.
this is a shame because I stopped watching 2 episodes ago... too much "case of the week". Sounds like they finally gave more answers tonight.
Just watched the last episode and holy sh-t, you weren't lying. That was awesome. Best hour of TV I've watched since the Breaking Bad season finale.
I just googled it and yep, it was announced today that it is 100% cancelled. Sucks so bad. What a great show.
Man, that's so depressing. Just too good of a show to make it on network. Tried to incorporate the "baddie of the week" procedural angle that gets the casual viewers, but it was simply better than that.
NBC had it on a weird time for me to watch it. It was after their comedy hour, which is an odd place for a crime drama since they are two different genres and have different audiences.
It's funny how I was just starting to get into the show and the plots that were building up. The one thing I don't like is the whole "red/orange vs. blue/green" color tinting. It's overdone and obvious. I hate to say it, but the show did seem to have the symptoms of a program destined for cancellation. I know all the episodes are filmed ahead of time, but it really seemed like the plot was moving way too fast in too short a time, almost like someone knew it wasn't going to last from the get-go.
Sorry for the double-post, but it also seemed like the show didn't really have a firm grasp of its own demographic. I couldn't help but wonder during some scenes whether it was heading towards being a psychological thriller, a sci-fi, a family drama, or a cop-action show... it seemed to incorporate ALL of these elements, and while I felt it was cool, it was also worrying to me at the same time because I knew that a lot of people would probably not really know what they were watching, and that would turn them off. I don't think T.V. viewers like to have their sensibilities challenged. I stand by my first post, though. This was such a cool premise for a show and it's too bad it's getting cancelled. I really felt like they were going to hit their stride with the new "hunted man" sub-plot.
Damn...dont understand why networks dont give a show a chance anymore. Some of the greatest shows did poorly out the gate, until they found their audience. And I actually didn't think Prime Suspect was all that bad before it got cancelled either.
