Spoiler yeah, I can accept som things but using tools? come on, still a great episode. I bet that cops wife gets pregnant from his co worker
Spoiler Didn't they say because the cop went on a shooting frenzy at the tank the Zombies heard them and came to where the sound was. Then they picked up the scent of the living flesh. Plus the racist guy was shooting from the roof. Covering up the windows wouldn't have mattered if the Zombies had already seen them. Now if they covered up the windows immediately after entering the store that might have worked but that wouldnt have masked the smell of living flesh. Talking about mermaids and crap in front of the rampaging zombies probably didn't help...
The only thing I can think of is that they have been more or less hiding in that department store as opposed to just sheltering there. Meaning, they wouldn't want to go near glass doors or windows where they could potentially be spotted. Plus, I assume the act of barricading an opening that significant would require large, heavy objects to be moved, which could potentially be very noisy. In general, it might have just been more logical to stay away from that part of the store, since it didn't seem to be a problem until Rick's gunshots got the "geeks" all riled up.
Being in a department store, there was a lot of stuff they could pile up in front of the door, it doesn't necessarily have to be heavy stuff. All the stuff the clothes were hung on and movable makeup station would have sufficed. Just something that would make it hard for the zombies to get around
Would they move all of these objects while wearing cloaking devices? It's a huge glass opening where zombies can clearly see inside. I'm just not sure it would be a good idea to get anywhere near it.
If I remember correctly, they were standing right next to the glass on multiple occasions. I'm sure it would have been fine.
They were pretty nonchalant about it. "Zombie hoard? Think nothing of it, my dear. Please peruse the fine jewelery collection of this upstanding establishment. Oh yes, the dolphin necklace. A personal favorite. You will be the veritable belle of the refugee camp!"
I might need to watch again. I guess it did take the horde a while to break through the glass, didn't it? So when they were looking at jewelry the zombies were still right outside the glass...
I thought... Spoiler It was kind of annoying when they were dismembering the body and every swing they took somebody would scream... Like they took at least 10 hits on the body followed by an annoying screech ..but whatever not that big of a deal. If they would of tried to cover the glass at department store wouldn't the zombies get more hostile the closer the smell of human flesh got? If you guys are talking about before the sheriff came than I agree, they should've done it before the zombies got there. Oh and is the Asian dude like, gone?
I haven't read the comics, but I assume it's one of two things... Spoiler Glen could have decided to take off on his own (unlikely since Rick seemed to know exactly where Glen was going...as if they had spoken about it beforehand). Or, Rick and Glen could have decided that it was unnecessary to have Glen rendezvous with the truck since he already had very capable transportation and could get to the camp outside the city much more quickly to let them know what the situation was.
First, they have to make stupid mistakes or there won't be any zombie fights. Second, it's a department store, cover the glass and pour perfume around the door. Third, the cop's wife is a w****.
Spoiler I would bet money that Glen (Asian guy) isn't gone. He's one of the main cast members. By the way, Dixon (racist redneck) isn't in the comic. Michael Rooker[/img] the actor who plays the Dixon part has some serious acting chops. I doubt we've seen the end of him. Also (future episode spolier) : Spoiler he's actually listed for the rest of the episodes, so I guess he gets off the roof, unless it's in flashbacks
No, the "asian dude" isn't gone. He's a main character. He just drove back on his own. This 2nd episode diverged heavily from the comics already, introducing new characters and a whole new situation....all the stuff that went down in that building. I liked it, I like the show, but if I'm gonna nitpick, it would be that Kirkman's zombies in the books are slow moving rotting corpses, so I didn't like that these zombies have shown the ability to run, use tools, and climb obstacles. Also, the character played by Michael Rooker was seriously stupid and unbelievable. Considering the situation they were in where they have obviously had to work together as a group so far, how in the hell did a racist psycho who wanted everybody to submit to him make it that far with them? Why the hell would they have wanted him to stick with their group? Just an example of some really bad writing. I was kind of hoping it would end with him just stuck on the roof til he died, but it's clear that going back after him is going to take up a significant part of episode 3, so that's 2 episodes of having to deal with this poorly written character.
Spoiler They did cut away to that toolbox and hacksaw falling when the black guy tried to save him. It's just hard to believe this guy is that maladjusted that he was gonna shoot Grimes should he get free.
