Get a bunch of these boys. Align the dozers in a multiple ^ pattern so that the tracks overlap and cover the entire swath of street/sidewalk. You raise the front blades 2-3 feet off the ground to knock the zombies down and the ones further back you keep about 6-8 inches off the ground so they grind the heads. Even if you miss a few, chances are they're immobile. Follow up with tanks and hummers to pop the heads that weren't crushed and you're good to go.

If you're not in the city, just dig a hole and bulldoze them in and bury them.

This is not rocket science... they can't think and they're still subject to the laws of physics.

that would work, only forseeable problem is the vehicle being overturned, tipped over or incapacitated due to its relative, small wheel base (in this case track base) and relative short and small size. Ideally I'd just have a couple of these bad boys go up and down the streets running over everything at 10 miles an hour.

Zombies from World War Z and even the running ones from 28 days later would never escape or survive nor be able to stop tanks running them over. Even a million zombies packed into the streets of downtown New York would do nothing but be smashed to pieces by a couple tanks driving over them. This is probably the biggest flaw in most zombie films and books, including WWZ and day by day armageddon both of which i enjoyed more than the walking dead comic (which was decent). Instead of the military using nukes (in some cases) or guns or bombs or other artillery weapons, they only simply needed to run them over with their tanks or armored vehicles.

Did anyone else HATE the finale? I loved every damn episode and couldn't wait for the finale.. and I was sorely disappointed.

Every episode had zombies, suspense, cliffhanger type endings.. and the finale was a bunch of BS talking and weak ending. Maybe part of it was spoiled because I figured out how they would escape the compound from remembering an earlier episode.. but still.. really weak finale. I was extremely disappointed given how good the first five episodes prior to it were.

A million zombies verses some tanks...I dunno...at some point I'd have to think the treads on those tanks get stuck or break and the tank becomes immobile and useless. And at some point you're gonna run out of gas.

I like the strategy in World War Z they eventually developed. Basically trained the soldiers to be sharp-shooters, go for the head, conserve ammo. One soldier gets tired and starts to lose focus, another one steps in to take their place.

That's a D9 cat. The one in the photo is easily over 50 tons. It's 26.5 feet long and almost 15 feet wide. Look at the people in each photo compared to the size of the vehicle. These are the machines that literally buried the Revolutionary Guard in the first Gulf War. No group of zombies is going to turn it over. I've seen smaller dozers build fireline through dense forests, and I've never seen the tracks come off on hard rock or muddy ground. (I have seen them burned over and tip over when on really steep ground, but for zombie battles, I'm guessing they're too stupid to use fire as a weapon or choose the battleground.)

    Here's another photo...

A couple of these will make short work of any zombie army. As an added bonus, this thing can shoot out a couple hundred foot long string of C4 to clear its path.

What I would like to see in season two is maybe a flash back showing how the military got overrun in Hotlanta. I think that would interesting to watch. Overall I enjoyed the 1st season...Last episode was kind of boring until the very end. Can't wait for season 2 though

I can't believe we're arguing about this, but whatev. I'll play:

I really don't think some of y'all are thinking this through: There are around 6 million people here in the Houston area. How many tanks and 50-ton bulldozers do y'all think we have? The exact number is this: NOT ENOUGH.

Even if we had a major base near here, we wouldn't have enough tanks to combat millions of zombies, and even if we did have enough, we'd run out of gas long before wiping them out. Y'all remember all those out-of-gas gas stations during the Rita mess? Imagine the panic from a friggin' zombie infestation.

Let's say the same zombie outbreak happened in Europe at the height of WWII, and the Allies and Axis powers decided to combine forces to kill zombies and hash out their problems later, they still wouldn't have enough armor to be effective, not to mention fuel and supply lines, which were enough of a problem already when they were just trying to kill other humans. Throwing the entire European and North African civilian-zombie populace into the fray would overwhelm even the best of the best.

Meanwhile, here on the more-or-less peaceful US mainland, the largest and (also the only active) armored division is the Army's 1st Armored Division. It's currently in process of moving its HQ from Germany to Ft. Bliss, which is in El Paso, which is 800-some miles from Houston, which makes it what....1,500 miles or so from Atlanta? This means that if the Walking Dead is present-day, our main armored force wouldn't even be here to combat them. Whatever National Guard armor we had available would wind up looking just like that lone tank parked in the street in downtown Atlanta: busted and useless.

We just simply wouldn't have enough of everything that we would need: tanks, fuel, ammo, other supplies, people to fix the inevitable mechanical failures, etc.

Nukes would destroy the entire planet, so those are out.

Strategic bombing would work to a very small extent. Do you bomb every major city only? Include large towns as well? There's simply no way to account for it all, especially if the CDC has already been overrun and all communications are out as well. You could never coordinate it. And you'd still have the issue of limited fuel, supplies, mechanics, you name it.

You know how they caught this guy? His tank got stuck:
    <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3vESIVemfG8?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3vESIVemfG8?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

This guy in the armored bulldozer rampage? The engine crapped out:
    <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/qlZh9-NQEyI?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/qlZh9-NQEyI?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

TL;DR: So far, the show's premise is entirely plausible and you can't just run over all the zombies in your never-break-down, never-run-out-of-gas tank/bulldozer of death.

I put entirely to much time into this post. :(

Especially in Houston, we would probably just kill each other... Isn't Houston one of the top 10 most dangerous city in the U.S???
If there ever was a Zombie Apocalypse, it'll end up looking like hell...

I found a bunch of lists (top 25, top 15) that seemed to come from the same source (FBI Report). I found the master list and it had Houston as the #46 most dangerous city.

    FWIW, Dallas was #52.

I think in general, this show is begging for flashbacks. Besides flashbacks of the overall zombie story, every character can have a personal flashback story arc (just like in Lost).

when they introduced Dr. Jenner at the end of episode 5, I definitely got a LOST vibe with Kelvin and Desmond down in that hatch isolated and quarantined from the outside world...

does anyone have a link to ep 6 online (without having to fill out a survey)?

AMC is still airing reruns and it isn't OnDemand yet...

if you were the last guy in the CDC in a zombie apocalypse, do you put on a tie and labcoat every morning or just let that one slide?
