Agreed. That was not subtle at all.

Probably gun shops and sporting goods stores were raided during the early stages of the zombie apocalypse. Most of the ammo for those weapon has probably already been used up, too. I can see the appeal of a big bag o' guns.

Again, I agree wholeheartedly. When that first zombie showed up eating the deer, I was amazed they stuck around. You just got the greatest gift in the world: advance warning of impending zombie encroachment. If you're too dumb to take the hint, you deserve to be ZombieChow.

I'd say it's ground-breaking in that it's being told in serial form on basic cable. That's a pretty big deal genre-wise. Not to mention, as VanityHalfBlack indicated, when was the last horror-series on TV? 'Tales from the Darkside' (no, I don't think vampire shows like "Moonlight" or "Angel" count)? It's pretty rare when a show like this comes around, and even more rare when it isn't complete garbage (I think even the most harsh critics would agree that, while the show is flawed, it's not garbage).

Why not??? Lost was very successful in doing that and then sum!!! There is more ground to cover since being a t.v series in all.. Whereas a movie you can have one simple plot but now that you can expand that into a tv show, you can have multiple story lines and details displayed onscreen...

Great ep. They really moved the plot along fast.

The whole CDC thing isn't in the comics, so I can't speculate on it.

Jim's end was pretty close to the comic as well.

I still really like Daryl - he's very practical. I hope they keep him around.

exactly - how hard is it to string some tin cans on fishing line around the perimeter of your camp. as long as zombies cant do the limbo you would have a good alarm.

Wouldn't they need their fishing lines to go fishing at some point??? It is the apocalypse and they need all the supplies they can get...

Aside from the great makeup and effects, this show is terrible.

I hope World War Z does well enough in theaters to warrant an anthology series based on the stories that don't make the film.

Still didn't feel fast enough. There was 1 zombie part in this one, and it was just at the end. The whole time I kept thinking that they gotta hurry up because there's just one episode left this season.

Last night's episode was much better than the last, but still not good enough. There should be more brutality (like the woman relentlessly pick-axing her late, abusive husband's head). Scenes like that show just how dark the network will allow the show to be, but then the rest of the episode is basically PG. Seems like a waste to me.

You guys do realize that this is a drama, not a gore-fest right? The series holds VERY true to the original comic... which is a lot more bout the relationships with the living than those of the dead. I think the show is fantastic and has gotten much better as the season progressed.

If you want gore, go rent a Saw movie. If you want tens of thousands of zombies, go rent Dawn of the Dead.

This show goes right along with every other great show on AMC. Rubicon, Mad Men and Breaking Bad are character and dialog driven dramas. I personally think the writing and acting is phenomenal.

When she was hovering over her sister I knew she was going to turn at some point, but it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire way... and it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

You honestly think the writing and acting are phenomenal on this show?

No wonder you disagreed with my last post.

Put me in the camp that is loving this show as well. The character drama is awesome.

    One thing:

Merle wasn't mentioned save for one offhand comment by the brother? The guy appears to have led a zombie massacre to the camp and it isn't discussed? No one wonders where he is? Is he hunting them? Anything? The brother just saw a bunch of people murdered thanks to his brother and he just keeps moving along with this group? No one in the group wanted any retribution against the brother or even said anything to him about it?

I think of Daryl as the redneck zombie apocalypse version of the elf ranger.

Another thing, I vehemently disagreed with the wife's assertion that they were weaker now because of people dieing. The ones who died were ones who didn't bring much to the table. They served their purpose in the group, being human shields that kept valuable members alive while they fought off zombies.
