They answered most of your questions on "Talking Dead". The zombies are attracted to the prison because they sense that their is food readily available if they get thru that fence. You've also got to think, the more time goes by the more hundreds of thousands of people end up dying and turning into these things. Soon the entire world should be overrun by zombies, if it already hasn't. Your third question they pointed out on the first episode where Carol was telling Daryl? I believe that they don't spread out anymore, they just sit cluster up in one spot. You've got to think about how much energy it would take to kill off 240 zombies in the Georgia heat within an hours time, that takes a s**t load of energy, something these guys have very little to waste. Also you have to remember that while you're getting rid of the initial threat, they're still going to keep coming and sometimes in hoards.
At the start of the episode, the first scene is somebody mysteriously feeding rats to the walkers. During the fence cluster scene, they find the remains of a bunch of rats.
This season is definitely better than the previous 2. I'd get into reasons but it's a Monday. As for who's burning those bodies, I'd guess the black chick, Tyreese's sister or whatever. Makes for the better storyline/character development. Plus, IIRC, that chick has shown flashes of willing to take extreme measures in the previous season.
Anyone else get the sense that the new viral zombies may retain some sentience? When Tyreese's girlfriend was looking for the sound, it seemed that Harry Potter waited for her to leave. Then came out of the shadows. This rudimentary sentience may also explain the congregating at the fence.
they made it a point to show the zombies at the fence being fed the rats from the inside of the prison.
Other than being silent but deadly killer zombies, with all their snarling and chomping that nobody seems to notice for hours, this episode was much better than the premiere. It was focused and moved from one scene to the next well. I was lol'ing at Carol. "You're weak, Lizzy!" But then again, Carol was the same way and look how she's grown. It's tough love, but it's life or death. Also at Glenn, for taking stalker sleeping pics. Good amount of action and good setup for figuring out who's feeding the rats, who burned Karen, and the new infection, although their quarantine protocols are pretty bad.
You've also got to remember this is the same lady that lost a daughter about the same age as Lizzy. So maybe she's just trying to prepare her the way she didn't with her own daughter, simply because Carol herself wasn't at that stage in her life yet. We'll see, but this season has been awesome so far. New plot twists and new characters popping up left and right with excitement to boot.
This show is terrible. Worse than True Blood. Worse than Heroes. Im not a fan of zombies, but I did like WWZ's zombies. I am not a fan of slow and stupid. It leaves the door open for mediocre writing. I watched what I guess was the season premiere. The woman in the woods: What did that story line have to do with anything? It was a 15 minute filler. If you need that much filler, its time to end your show. The zombies at the gates: Its standard wire fencing. It might hold back a couple zombies, but a couple hundred? And where do the bodies go after they are stabbed? Lets be a little more creative. The big lots building collapsing: Its an effing steel building. I understand the need for theatrics, but please, do better. Use an explosion or something. Not dozens of zombies falling through a roof. Dixon not wanting to use firearms: You're not a badass because you use a cross bow. Lets stick to simple. Anyways, this show has more plot holes than heroes. Im not sure how this is even popular.
I assume you have not seen any episodes besides these two this season? Season 1 was incredible. Season 2 was a bit dull but finding out Sophie has turned into a walker was one of the biggest moments in TV history. Season 3 started strong, finished weak. Daryl uses a crossbow because in earlier seasons it was established that: 1) Daryl used to hunt with a crossbow (still does) and it's just what he's most proficient at. 2) Preserves ammo, which was a huge issue early on when they were on the move. 3) Is silent, therefore does not attract the zombies. Also was a bigger issue early on when they were on the move.
Lol, I was like "seriously? wtf?" Guy must watch cream puff shows. It was a twist but it didn't pay off for 8 episodes of crap. I'm glad someone else has the same criticisms because this show leaves much to be desired compared to others. But it's zombies and people will keep watching. At least the costumes and makeup are good.
I agree, i don't get what all the premature ejac is about. People seem to shoot their wad way too early in the season and then realize how much it sucks after they get you hooked towards the end. I disagree with the Daryl thing though, he is my favorite character and probably one of the only reasons I watch.
Yea...no. They spent the entire season looking for a girl everybody knew was already a walker. They executed it well ....but greatest moment in T.V history? You need to watch some more shows bro.
I understand the use of the crossbow. And I agree. It wasn't that he didn't want to use the pistol as primary, he initially refused to bring one, on grounds that if he needed it, he would be too screwed anyways. "lel" For one shot with a crossbow, i can unload an entire mag. and have it reloaded.
Didn't say "greatest". I said "ONE OF the biggest", as in a **** ton of people watched it and blew a lot of dumb people's minds and was a huge emotional payoff to the most highly rated cable TV show. "Biggest" doesn't mean "best". The way the Sopranos ended, in my opinion, was cheap and was a sham, but nobody can deny it was one of the biggest moments in TV history. I liken the Sophie scene to it, because of how popular TWD is in cable TV history. That being said, I still maintain Season 1 was incredible and if everyone just decided to stay and kill themselves at the CDC compound it would have been one of the greatest single season of TV ever. (I also think this is true of Homeland where if Brody just blew everyone up at the end in season 1, it would have been legendary. Too bad the reality is that networks want to make money). I actually am not a fan of The Walking Dead anymore, I just am trapped watching it due to time invested like a lot of crappy TV shows I watched in my day (Weeds, Lost, the god-awfulness that is True Blood, jury is still out on Homeland). My favorite show of all time is Breaking Bad.
I have to agree with the criticisms regarding Season 2. It was unbelievably predictable that Sophie would be a walker. I got in trouble with my friends for correctly predicting this to them. The 3rd season got even worse with the Governor. There was absolutely no character exposition. Why is the Governor so evil? I still don't really understand. The 3rd season was cartoonish and boring. Hopefully this season will provide more believable villains (i.e., a camp member who is killing others who are potentially sick with the virus).
