Definitely one of the better episodes of the series. Lots of action, great zombie effects, good acting. There wasn't a single character that annoyed me and you could see the emotional toll the last 8 months took on them. Great start to the season!

Tyrese is basically a bigger, badder, stronger version of Shane except that he also possesses reasoning and tactical skills (that are almost on par with Rick's) something that Shane completely lacked.

His one major drawback was that he also possessed rage issues like Shane and once his anger took over all those reasoning and tactical skills went out the window.

TV has taught me that there can't be 2 black bad ass main characters let alone 2 black main characters in any popular TV show. If T-Dog doesn't die this season I will be very surprised

Every time I see T Dog I still associate him with the role he played in "The Blind Side" lol.

However he plays a much more likable role in Walking Dead.

Just because a show is not based in reality, that mean it doesn't have to make sense.

Once again, the writers have already established the rules of the universe and it seems like they can ignore said rules whenever it can further the plot.

They've been scavenging for eight months now looking for food, shelter, and supplies in residential areas. All houses had food and supplies. Not all houses had guns and ammo. The fact that all they can find is two cans of puppy food in a house is more likely than finding a cache of firearms. They also said that they were low on ammo at the campfire yet they're sniping away from 100 yds getting headshots with pistols.

Just because some of us are critical on a show doesn't mean we hate it. I didn't blow up and be dramatic saying I would stop watching the show. I just said that it was lol-worthy. And it is. If the writers can get away with ignoring established elements of the show, then that means they can introduce any deus ex machina at any time they want.

got damn calm down son. Maybe they've searched many houses only to come up empty, and the house they searched in the beginning of the show was the exception.

What really bugs me is that they threw away the dog food instead of eating it. I mean cmon, it's the ****ing zombie apocalypse, and you're being picky. Perfectly good dog food, wasted. Aside from killing Shane, finding that dog food was the best thing Carl has done through the entire series.

Can we hurry up and end this so we can bring Breaking Bad back!

They were low on Ammo AFTER the snipe fest. That's why they had to go into the prison hand to hand. So they actually did stick to their rules. They started the episode with X amount of ammo (presumably by finding it during their long scavenging trip that wasn't on television for several months) and then elected to use a lot of it to clear out the fence area of zombies. They then went into the prison using knives and other hand held weapons PRECISELY because they didn't have enough ammo after the snipe fest to waste taking the prison.

At the end of the prison episode they found some ammo and weapons. So no they've established they can use guns again for the next episode.

Seems like they sorted through it pretty logically.

I actually have no problem with criticizing the lack of logic when it is there. Heck, I've done it on this show quite a bit!

I think the zombie issue is irrelevant though when it comes to ammo in particular. Like any action show or movie that involves long running scenarios, the show writers get to decide how ammo will be treated. If the show is going to spend a lot of time on ammo that's fine. If it's not, that's fine too!

It is perfectly ok to accept that ammo is found offscreen. Also like with any action film, reloading of a weapon does not have to stick to the realms of reality. I think of it like traffic. Have you ever noticed how the only time people in movies/film deal with traffic issues is when it will advance the plot? If it doesn't help the plot, the actors can get from point A to point B much faster than anyone can in reality because they don't face traffic or red light issues or construction! I accept that as fine because it would be a waste of time to show them dealing with being cut off by a car that slams its breaks at a yellow light and adds 3 minutes to a scene. Same thing with ammo.

Sorry about the double post but any chance we will see Tyrese on the show?

Think I read an interview with the showrunners that they may add him at some point but considering where we are in the story it'd be a different version of Tyrese.

    But, great episode.

As for the popular topics -

Ammo - hardly think it was so overtly egregiousness that it deserves being so upset over. Sure, there is a bit of reality suspension from time to time but it's not that bad.

Dog food - I think they wanted to eat it but Rick tossed the can away because he didn't want them to go there just yet. But yeah, in a pinch, i'd say dogfood is fair game...it worked for Mad Max

Why shouldn't they be when the show tries to present logical explanations ex:Jenner explaining how the brain stem is still alive which is why they can carry out bodily functions

but a zombie with a broken neck can still move its arms.

Nobody is going to be a critical of a zombie show off the bat, but when they use certain explanations as a basis for them doing things, they should be held accountable for they cross them.

That scene at the barn was just absolutely ridiculous, had they not made ammo and rounds in a gun an issue before, I would have vindicated them, but Herchel fires like 40 shotgun rounds in a row, and little old Carl who just learned how to shoot is getting straight Headshots from 100 yards away.
