I was wondering why the cable networks have fewer episodes than the standard networks. Ah ok, thank you. I didn't realize that. Don't forget about American Horror Story. I need to get into GoT, Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Homeland. Still LOVE Justified. Just got into The Americans and it's pretty good so far. Never heard of that show. I'll look into it. Problem is having time to watch all of the shows that I want to watch. :\
How do you guys feel about the writers all of a sudden giving Merle compassion and doing a complete 180 in an hour of television after all the truly awful things he did AND fans actually excepting it? I think it sucks and felt rushed IMO. I felt there was no build up or anything that led me to believe that Merle had any good in him before that last 30 minutes of the episode. I still remember Micheal from LOST when he did some terrible things so he could get his son back. He was a good man doing what he thought he had to do for family; fans absolutely hated him for it. Even the writers seem to hate his character; writing in that his son, Walt, pretty much hated him for saving him from the island. Even when Mike went back to the island for recompense (which he achieved) the writers blew him up and fans cheered. wasn't even in the damn church at end.
Tell me about it, the wife and I watch so much crap it's hard to keep up. Makes us very wary of starting new shows. Homeland, for example, we've finally broken down and started watching from the start after hearing good things about it.
So little time!! If I had to choose just one show out of the shows that I mentioned, which one would it be? I don't really have time to watch ALL of them right now. Just a show to replace WD until it returns. I know that hubby and I will need to catch up with the seasons on Netflix first, though. I've heard good things about Homeland.
I thought Merle just wanted to kill the governor, period. He knew the governor wouldn't stop coming after them, even with Michonne. He took Michonne as bait, but it got to him along the way.
That's how I interpreted it. I don't think the Gov knows everyone is infected. Why wouldn't he shoot Merle in the head? Unless he wanted to send a message to the prison and purposely let Merle turn. Can't wait for Sunday. I wish it was a two-hour finale.
Bingo. Governor is sadistic...he knew what he was doing. And Im pretty sure they've discussed it in a previous episode that they knew people were already a zombie. In fact after the helicopter crash they watched the pilots turn I think. As for Merle, he didn't do a 180 in this episode. Since he came back to the show this season he's been a bit more toned down. Sure he's still done some bad things, but I could sense the writers trying to show a deeper side to him; a chance at redemption. I honestly thought early on he would turn against the Governor because of the Governor's refusal to let him search for Daryl.
I'm pretty sure that the governor knows that everyone is infected. He made that kid go stab all of the army reserve people in the head after they had been shot.
I must be the only one who didn't like this episode. It was meh to me. Merle's transformation seemed so rushed, and I never felt a connection to his character. He just seemed like a troll just to troll, then he all of a sudden became a martyr. I just didn't buy it. The only part I liked is when Daryl saw Merle turn. Not because I'm a sadistic dick, but because you could actually feel Daryl's emotions. I guess the problem I had with this episode is that I felt more sadness for Daryl than I did for Merle, who the episode was supposed to be about.
He has to know... They did experiments with the old guy that died of cancer... He didn't get bit and they knew he would come back to life shooting him in the chest was so Meryl could turn.
Could one of the mods change the title of the thread to: The walking dead season 3 nitpicking thread. Kthxbai
it was a google maps self-driving car. this also explains the change in tires for the brief moment while the car parked itself near the barn.
