That's my point. The writing was terrible. They've written Michonne as the untrusting "angry black woman." She's been basically an animal. Killing the governor's zombie daughter just to spite him? When Shane did that to Hershel's family we were supposed to see Shane as the bad guy and have sympathy for Hershel, Maggie, etc.

They've just botched the character development for the Governor and Michonne imo.

Except she was skeptical of him and mean mugging him from the beginning. The governor had done nothing that she knew of at that point to be seen as the bad guy. He saved Andrea's life. Michonne was dying to get out. If you look at it from Adrea's perspective, she made the right call. She's happy in Woodbury and is getting some. The governor has done nothing to her that is wrong.

Even trying to kill Michonne. In that world, I get it. If you leave you are a risk. Remember that Rick and his group wanted to kill the kid they helped because he knew where the farm was and might lead the gang to them. Well here is Michonne, angry, skeptical and violent. You let her leave and she's all bitter that Andrea stayed...she would be a threat to Woodbury going forward.

Yes, very true. I'd have been grateful to run into a guy like the Gov. I'm like you, I hope they take the time to develop this thing the right way but if they want to make him somewhat sympathetic, as in that you understand his plight but he's got a screw loose, it could work. It works for Magento. But I don't think that is their intention. Right now he's just watered down, like Horry in Phoenix.

    LOL at the Horry comment.

If their intention is to make him a sympathetic bad guy then ok. Maybe for tv they want Michonne to be sort of a bad character (not evil, but out of control).

I just think they've botched it. Even the stuff with her at the prison. She gets the baby formula and walks all the way to the prison and then plays tough as nails, doesn't want to talk to anyone? Why did she go to the prison with the formula? LOL

I dont think her hatred aimed at the walkers but more towards the governor. Remember she kept two walkers with her to carry her supplies when she was introduced in the show.

At first Michonne had very strong distruct for the Guv which has solidified into hatred after the Guv tried to have her killed in the woods. Remember that? That's reason enough to hate someone.

In the comic book Michonne definately has more reasons to hate him. look it up.

Well it's not like the walkers she kept were her friends...she sliced off their jaws and arms. Basically kept them as slaves. It's almost like she was putting them in their place. The fact that she has to kill walkers the split second she sees them seems to show she hates them a lot IMO. The show may not be following the comic 100%, who knows.

Then i guess she's trying to put others out of their misery? Just seems to me like she had issues with the walkers first. Whether she hates them. or feels sorry for them, i dont know. Maybe it just developed that way and is not important.

Well, the fact that Andrea is so naive and blinded about the Governor. Michonne knew something was fishy about the Governor. She knew he was up to no good. She knew something was wrong after the Governor attacked and killed all the soldiers. So, being curious, she basically did a little investigation on the governor and told Andrea that she doesn't trust the governor and woodbury.

But Andrea didn't believe her and stayed. But Michonne had the rights to kill the Governor's daughter. He tried to kill her so it was basically revenge. I was really angry at how naive and blind Andrea was. When the governor was bending over Maggie, that was the last straw.

During the sneak peak of Season 4, I think Andrea still stay with the Governor even after she found out he captured Daryl. But I just hope Daryl escapes and got back to Rick. Can't wait for Rick and his clan along with Tyrese the New character to get together.

Honestly, I think Andrea is the most annoying character in the show. Even from the beginning of the show I never really like her. I always thought she tries too hard sometimes and acts base on her selfishness. From the time when they told her not to shoot and she still pulled the trigger thinking that she was so cool afterwards before knowing she shot Daryl.

If I were Rick I would use Andrea as a evil detector. As soon as she got busy with a dude that would be my signal that the guy is evil and has to go.

The governor wasn't trying to rape Maggie, his intentions were to show her he had power over her... its like I'm the alpha and you have to be submissive kinda thing.

I watched the Talking Dead and the writers said they were purposely bringing the Governor character on slowly.Sounded like he'll become a lot more of the evil character people were expecting.

I also agree with the poor direction they took with the Michonne character.I was thinking that her and Andrea might have had some kind of lesbian relationship.. She seemed to be acting out of jealousy and the writers never clarified what reason she had for her anger, well other than just some suspicion.

I'm thinking Andrea's loyalty is still with her original group and, eventually, she will make her way back over to them after/during a showdown....probably killing someone from the town during fighting to save someone in her original group (or Rick's group). I think seeing Daryll/Merle being threatened with death by her boyfriend and the town folk woke her up...that she doesn't know anything about what has been going on because she is getting the citizen treatment while those in charge keep everything from them.

I would be shocked if Andrea turns on her old group and sticks with the Governor/city after the end of the last episode. She may go along with them for now to help Rick's group and save her skin. Then, eventually she will return to Rick's group (assuming she doesn't die...which we always hope for).

That is what I'm thinking based on what I've seen with no comic book knowledge.

For you guys who read comics, do you feel like it ruins things when watching TV since you already know what will happen? Hubby wants to read them.

The show and the comic don't always match up exactly on plot or order of events, so yeah he would have a basic idea of what is coming, but it will be interesting on the other hand to see how the comic gets adapted for television.

Plus there are some different characters and relationships at play in the comic.

I think on New Years eve and New Years day, they are going to have The Walking Dead marathon on AMC so everyone can watch from the beginning all the way til the finale.
