Jesus was more like, "Stop wasting everyone's time with these boring ass monologues! Otherwise I have to keep spicing up the action to keep everyone awake/not fast forward through the entire episode"
Spoiler The deer didn't look zombie. The problem was the ridiculous buildup. It was pretty obvious something bad was going to happen. Not very shocking at all. Not like the fat chick getting shot in Buffy. Now that was shocking, as millions of lesbians simultaneously screamed like Darth watching Luke get roasted by the Emperor.
Spoiler I honestly thought it was a sign from Jesus that he was choosing the right path. So I actually was surprised, but at the same time I thought "I should have known something was gonna happen."
Rule number one in nerd television shows, characters that suffer are more entertaining than those that are happy. Either suffer or gleefully commit evil deeds, either is fine, but do not be a happy hero, because happy heroes are boring.
Man, I don't think this is an Emmy winning show or anything, but some of you guys are nitpicky as hell. And I thought the biggest complaints were going to be the changes from the comics.
Spoiler I wasn't expecting a zombie deer, however, I was expecting a zombie to pop out and rip the deer apart and scare the crap outta that ugly little kid.
When it comes to zombie flicks, people live in a fantasy world and wish they were actually there. People get frustrated on some of the dumb things the actors will do, including myself. But, most people arn't dissing the show, just objecting to the actions taken, not the show its self... Speaking for myself at least.
why so many non zombified bodies on the freeway? was there some sort of event that killed people that was not part of the zombie infection? BigMak- you question the dumb things the characters will do, not the actors- unless you think there is some cheesy acting going on, which in this show is slightly true to an extent.
I guess. I think there are FAR worse shows out there that get much more love from viewers. cough, Mad Men, cough!
Wow. Romero would have never been able to make a sequel if they based it on reviews of some of you. I thought it was one of the better episodes of the series. I would have liked the commercials more evenly spread out, the long stretch followed by multiple breaks made it more obvious. For those who don't like the kids: Spoiler Have you read the story at all? Kids are in in for the long haul. For those that know the story: Spoiler When I watched the episode, for some reason I kept thinking about Rick talking to his wife on the phone. We're seeing the early sprouts of his madness finally.
Yeah I got a DVR, but didn't have it set yet to record. Not to mention, I'd rather watch it at it's normal time if I can then wait until it records. Plus, I'd still have to fast forward through all the damn commercials, every 10 minutes. I don't mind commercials, but not at that frequency. Whether you have to sit through them or skip, it pulls you out of the show.
