I know it's just one episode, but has it stayed true to the comic? I was considering giving the comic a read, but I think I'm just curious about who shot the deer and kid.
looked pretty cool...synopsis: Set in the 1860s at the beginning of reconstruction, the series follows Cullen Bohannon, a former Confederate soldier, who is determined to exact revenge on the Union soldiers who murdered his wife. His quest for vengeanace sends him westward to Nebraska's "Hell on Wheels," the lawless town that moves with the construction of the transcontinental railroad. However, things get complicated when a Cheyenne tribe attacks the construction of the railroad, determined to destroy the project because it is being built through their lands.
Ha that's exactly what my wife said. Just a little bit more research on the part of the writers/director/set designers would have gone a long way. I did love the beginning and the zombie action. Although I wish I hadn't seen any of the sneak peaks, since they showed basically all the zombie parts. But after the beginning it slowed to a crawl and dragged. An hour long episode would have been just fine. Definitely question the judgement of some of these characters, but that didn't bother me too much. What really bothered me is you watch for an hour and a half and they are still nowhere close to finding the girl. She's a scared, little girl, how far could she have gotten?! The episode would have been far better had Carl's injury coincided with the girl being found. But as it is, you had a couple more cliffhangers to the ones that still haven't been resolved. Is Daryl's brother ever coming back??? Is he dead??? A zombie???? What did the doctor say to Rick at the end of season one's finale??? And no Rick, IT DOES MATTER. IT MATTERS TO THE VIEWERS.
I would assume he will be making a return at some point. I think he got away The scientist took everyone's blood samples. They made a big deal out of it last season by focusing on it, which means that it was done for a reason. Then he whispered to Rick. My guess is that it has to do with his wife's blood sample (as in she is pregnant)...potentially with his partner's kid.
Oooohh yeah....see this is what happens when the series is gone for a whole year! I knew Merle escaped by cutting off his hand, but they haven't addressed that storyline since. And the way Rick sounded in his opening monologue, it didn't seem like Lori was pregnant. It sounded maybe he knew something of the origins of the zombie plague, but it didn't really matter now. I dunno. I just hope they start to resolve some of these cliffhangers.
1. They all spilled out from behind a bus...perhaps he couldn't see around it. 2. Yeah, that was a bit ridiculous 3. I think it had more to do with it being a peaceful moment in nature...them letting a child have an innocent peaceful moment in a world that is now hell 4. Did they establish that concept? I thought that they just rubbed the zombie guts all over themselves last season so that they wouldn't attract attention in a giant herd. I don't remember them ever establishing that the zombies could locate them by scent...just that if you are going to walk amongst hundreds of them you better smell and look like them. Dunno...been a while since I watched season 1 5. You can't have zombie attacks the whole time or we would have 3 episodes tops before everyone gets wiped out. I don't think the dialogue is cheesy 6. What horror movie have you ever seen where the victims-to-be make good decisions? Plus, I don't even know what a good decision would be in that situation (I guess get a TON of food and water and move into a skyscraper, but it might be filled with zombies) I have too much free time on my hands today. I think you have good points, I just disagree. It's supposed to be a b grade zombie show...
Yeah I'm with Blake. They've never established that the zombies can hunt by smell. The reason the people needed to smell like them when they walked through a crowd was so when the zombies were looking at them and walking by them the smell of death would make it seem like they were zombies as well. If they could hunt by smell the humans would never be able to hide. They've hidden out of view of the zombies plenty of times without getting busted.
My biggest concern is that the new season becomes The Walking Woods. Zombies in an urban or semi urban environment are just way more creepy.
rhino17, weren't you the one who was so critical of the show's first season? please excuse me if I'm mixing you up with someone else, but if so, I don't understand your motivation for continuing to watch. BTW, the boy actually had a pretty solid purpose in season one in terms of showing a positive side to usurper cop, and strengthening the relationship between married cop and his wife. IMO, he has the potential to be an important story factor if they don't do stupid stuff like the deer last night.
I was critical of the 2nd half of last season, the 1st was fine. I am giving it a 2nd chance due to the massive overhaul in writers and a full season instead of 6 episodes.
A good chunk of the comic is not in cities. They're roughly following the comic so far (previews of the farm, which was their first big stop).
If he did that, I can't judge him. I watched the ENTIRE Lost series despite it constantly going downhill and my hatred for the show kept growing but I HAD to finish it. Such a dark chapter in my life....
And what the hell was that Spoiler silly subplot about which characters get to carry a gun? It was a complete waste of dialogue and time.
My guess is that blondie is going to be in a situation where she needs a gun and has none and one of the characters saves her and then they hook up. My guess is Daryl or the partner
Even though I did fast forward through some of the bad acting, I did catch this part. She wants to die her own way, not getting eaten by zombies. So it makes sense...the gun is to kill zombies, or kill herself when she wants to. And the old guy (with terrible lookout skills) doesn't want her to shoot herself.
If it were me, I'd want the young Asian guy as the lookout. He probably has better sight and hearing than the geezer.
Why are they still driving that POS camper? Those Army trucks at the facility looked way more road worthy.
Yeah, bad lookouts, bad vehicles...these donks are making crucial mistakes left and right. You don't have to be Jason Bourne, but you have to make better decisions than the dumb ones you've been making so far.
