Thought the first ep was pretty good. I give it a solid "B".

I think they stretched the whole woods scene a little long, but that is a very minor complaint.

Things should pick up when they make it to LA and stop by Bill Murray's house

Pretty good. Not great, but good.

I know it's a TV show, but the whole time I was yelling 'get on top of the RV and scout before you start walking around this so called graveyard.' Finally they did.

I'm terrible with names in that TV show, but the 'other' cop... If he's planning on leaving and going out on his own, who wouldn't want a good looking blonde girl to tag along? Your hand will get pretty tired after awhile.

When they were driving down the wrong side of the freeway (other side was blocked with abandoned cars) you could clearly see it was a picture of abandoned cars superimposed into the live action. My girl and me start both laughing. AMC is lucky they don't broadcast in HD or it would be even more apparent.

Was it really worse than when they used the exact same shot in Season 1?

AMC broadcasts in HD. I didn't notice whatever you just described.

they used the same shot last season too.

That was the one clearly fake shot I noticed, and it's bad but not take-you-out-of-the-moment tacky. I thought the zombies (particularly the one that got in the rv) looked even better this time.

You watched the whole show in SD thats probably why it looked fake and superimposed. Looked fine to me in HD :p

Honestly, there have been a number of shots since the first episode that look fake and superimposed. Every blood splatter from a bullet for instance. Also, most of the wide overhead shots of zombies or the tank in Atlanta. When the CDC blew up, as well.

Welcome to basic cable as opposed to a $200 mil Hollywood blockbuster.

I wonder if they'll bring back Merle.

Daryl's a straight bad ass, favorite character on the show by far.

Not really complaining but the opening on the roof, the sky looked fake and so did the freeway still leading to the city.

so did all the zombies just pile out the bus or what

i was confused by the opening shot. they left last season escaping the CDC and heading out onto the open road.

we start on Rick on the rooftop overlooking Atlanta. continuity wise it left me questioning the timeline of events since the explposion at the end of last season. did I forget something that happened?

about the "herd" of walkers on the freeway- this was the biggest group they had all faced together since the attack on the camp. that group was supposed to be a rogue group of walkers that the group at camp were (barely) able to contain.

Rick and some of the folks downtown had already dealt with numbers like that, but it was cool to see them acknowledge and talk about where the hell they all came from.

maybe it would have been nice to pile everyone into the rv, but that doesn't make for good television drama!

I love how these characters really don't like each other at all...

It's like a roaming heard of zombies searching for food. Similar to the pack of zombies that attacked their camp in the woods in season 1.

I realize that but is the old guy just the worst watch ever then? He was on top of the RV with binoculars. I mean these zombies are plodding and slow as hell.

For one, the whole zombies invading the freeway thing. They have a lookout, yet they dont notice these hundreds of zombies until they are about 40 feet away and have no time to warn everyone.

The black guy looked as if he was going to bleed to death and he ends up being just fine with no explanation.

Who lets their kid walk up alone to a wild animal in the woods during a zombie apocalypse?

How did the zombies simply walk by the people as they sat under cars? I was under the impression that the zombies could smell them and follow their scent, or has that already established concept been tossed out the window

The monologues are cheesy and unnecessary

And my biggest complaint is the interactions between the characters and their decisions. They make no sense most of the time. Nonsensical and unrealistic decisions irritate the hell out of me. This looks more like a B grade horror movie the way these characters are developing.

What do you guys think of the previews from AMC's new series about a Western? It looked pretty good and AMC is known for putting out hits

Yes, it is quite easy to just walk up to a deer in the wild, as long as you move really slowly & have a sh!teating grin on your face. Give me a break.

That kid looked like a pyschopath walking up to that deer. I was happy he got shot instead of the deer. This show doesn't need kids.
