With all the negative reviews I've read/heard, I thought I wouldn't like it (Z Nation), but it was actually somewhat fun & enjoyable. I agree, you have to go in with the mindset that it is cheesy and campy. With that said, I still enjoy TWD & FTWD more.

I hope they kill off Chris (Travis's son) soon, he is the most annoying of the bunch with the daughter coming a close 2nd, but at least she can act.

I don't understand the love for Tobias. To me, he is the Eugene of FTWD, a guy that don't really fit in with people. Who really liked Eugene in TWD? Probably only the people who have following the comic books and know more about him.

When did this happen? Assume you are referring to the 3rd episode.

I wonder if they are going to force this group through the same transition as Rick's group or if they'll speed the process up. The Salvadoran barber guy seems to be on top of things, maybe he'll get Travis to stop being such a chump and maybe it won't take several seasons to do it.

i'm enjoying it more than i have enjoyed the last three seasons of TWD. that said, i'm all for the salazar's. the selfishness of the main family came through, letting their dog get killed like that.

Was last night's episode the 3rd or the 4th episode? For some reason my DVR is set on the third episode but if I recalled, it should be the 4th one?

Spoiler alert if you're not caught up -

Nothing really groundbreaking in episode 3. I thought the main difference in this series vs. TWD would be scope, but like TWD and the farm, and the prison, etc. this series looks to be focused on their neighborhood as the primary set piece. Kinda boring if that's where they are keeping the series for season 1.

Even season 1 of TWD had more balls to explore scope, and perspective even if it did start after the S$%@ hit the fan.

Then there was the military coming through to save a random suburban neighborhood from ONE zombie? I'm assuming that they will fortify and create a quarantine zone that they are not allowed to leave, and the saviors in this case, will ultimately be the villains... ugh..

You'd think they would have you know more important places to focus their efforts and resources like ugh... the city itself

This show had promise with the better acting, and initial production, but the story.... please tell us why we are watching something that brings anything new to the table in the zombie genre???... or is this just something to get people excited about TWD's new season because that's what this show looks like thus far.

That's exactly why this show exist. It's like a teaser until the real zombie show comes back in October or whatever.

Nah, looks like they were sweeping the area and happen to get there at that exact moment. How would they have even known that there was a zombie back there?

I was really hoping the junkie was going to get mistaken for a walker by the military when he was snooping around those barred windows looking for junk, cause he looks like he's already half-dead..

So, the rioters and looters were so caught up in vandalizing that no one noticed the cop in the middle of the street eating on a human like a guy was eating baby back ribs? Seems unlikely. I guess cannabalism is normal under those conditions. I also don't like how these people and especially the Kim Dickens character were still trying to reason with the zombies and are still hesitant to take them out. Did they not learn anything from the dead drug dealer coming back incident and the high school principal incident? Or, even the church crack house the Dad went to? Every time they see a new zombie...that almost act like it is the first time. The thing is mauling your dog making zombie noises and you are trying to talk to it? They've all seen enough by now to know to put them out of their misery. Weak is right.

I seem to remember a certain someone from across the country and further down the timeline who thought it was a good idea to store the zombies in a barn.

I understand that. I was merely nitpicking at how TWD and now FTWD looks to be suffering from creating scope & the predictability that TWD writers have to hault on certain locations primarily because of budget... which is something that us as viewers shouldn't be giving them excuses for.

Its not WWZ so I get that they can't go from the US to an Navy Ship to Egypt in one season, but there are things you can do as a writer and director to create better worldbuilding.

I just feel like this show is headed to another "TWD Farm" type of setting. I hope not.

Those were rural folk. They're excused due to ignorance. They didn't just drive by the quarantined city hospital seeing cops killing walker / patients.

I like the show, killing zombies is new to them so they still have some trepidation on how to react to what's happening. I like the group as a whole and wonder who is going down first, something tells me the drug addicted kid will go down

    Also,
I mean, that's sort of how you'd have to do it. You can't start from the center of the city, the numbers would be too great, you'd want to set a perimeter and move from the outside in. It's of course doomed to failure because we all know that everyone is infected, but THEY don't know that yet.

As to setting it up as another TWD "farm"
if you didn't get out soon enough to beat the military blockade, isn't that sort of what you'd have to do? Shelter in place till things get worse and the military is no longer preventing you from leaving. It'll be interesting to see where there go, if and when they are allowed to leave. The best possible travel method would be by boat and the best direction to head would be north, but they keep talking about going to the desert. I'm guessing they never get to the desert, because I'm pretty sure this is filmed in Canada.

Im calling it now - Travis will go down at the end of the season. Like Ruben Blades has said multiple times... he's weak. He's also the "man of the house" that is giving Kim Dickens' character too much security. Like killing off Dallas in Alien, it throws out security of the guy who has everything under control.

Dickens being the central lead character makes this show much more interesting IMO.
