Agreed on the brothers and the lesbians...Dont much care for either team...the detective's dont seem too bright and the problem is, they dont realize it. Driving 20 miles past your destination cause you couldnt be bothered to go back and check to see what the sign actually said?? a potentially fatal move that would have cost them if not for grandma's slow stroll around the farm.
I was dissappointed in the grandma's attitude, I thought she was a competitor, it looked like they were just along for the ride. BTW - that lake surrounded by Volcanoes was magnificent.... DD
the scenery at some of the places they go is really the main thing I like about the show. The always do a great job of framing the shots to really capture the scenery. I always kind of root for the older people that try this, and when I saw she was a biathlon runner, I expected MUCH better performance. She wasn't taking it seriously as a actual race, she was just using it to spend time with her g-daughter. Predictions for next week? Im feeling either the brothers or the detectives. They both do stupid things and it has got to catch up to them soon.

Okay i just watched both episodes. As everyone has said the cowboys impressed. My sleeper team is the Former Phillies coach/his daughter. I despise the Lesbian and Asian couple. I thought it was hilarious when Miss South Carolina spat at the farm. I'm also with DD on the scenery at the lake surrounded by volcanoes...It was gorgeous. It should be another great season!
LOL yeah, she isnt the brightest bulb in the room, maybe not even a candle... but she doesnt seem petty, malicious or b****y (so far) so shes ok. I'm sure the editing has an influence as well, I mean its hard no to root for someone when they are continually shown to be "hated" upon by the very two teams you yourself hate. Im sure if the Lesbian/brother team disliked the grandma/daughter i woulda rooted for their slow ass lol. oh speaking of which, while i thought grandma/daughter were slow as hell and seemingly playing as if they were just on a bonding vacation, I was pretty impressed with the grandma when that cow kicked her upside the head! That looked like it would hurt. Lastly I'm having a difficult time believing that one of the brothers is straight on that brothers team. For the most part i cant tell which is the gay one or the straight one as they both act really gay (not that there is anything wrong with that of course.)
Yeah, I almost mentioned that but I forgot. She got kneed pretty hard by that cow, and for anyone that has never been kicked by livestock...I can tell you from experience that hurts like hell. (grandparents had a farm when I was young) I'm not saying she wasn't a plucky old broad, but if you are in a competition, act like it damnit.
I think the Cowboys benefitted by a lucky break, their bus being from the same terminal, and the big challenge involving livestock, something they have a lot of familiarity with.... I don't expect them to do this well for that long. The big brother couple is pretty good, but only because of the guy, he is a very strong player. Same with Miss Teen, her boyfriend is solid too...... No one to hate, but the Lezzis are on that path for me... DD
Doesn't it seem like all the challenges are super easy? The emu and flying one were a joke. The lezzies are b****es. The other blond chick/boyfriend couple cracks me up. He treats her like shes a r****d. Like the cowboys but oh my gravy is going to get old
I agree with you, there is no reason for the gay brother or the lesbians to be rude like that towards her (or behind her back). She may put her foot in her mouth a lot, but she isn't being rude to anyone. I think it's creepy that the gay guy can quote her exact pageant flub word-for-word. That's worse than the flub itself IMO.
Most forgettable pair of the season: The father/daughter. I don't know anything about them. Also the African American women attorneys.
yes, she has a girl next door thing going, I actually prefer that type of girl to the barbie-types like the BB and MissTeen ones. their problems are that they are so far back in the pack they have gotten very little camera time. If they make it to the top 6 teams we will see alot more of them. Its tough to fit in camera time for 11 teams from the beginning, so they concentrate on the leaders and the ones at the rear of the pack during the first few weeks.
It's as if the father/daughter team didn't have a camera crew with them on the last episode. All I remember seeing was them at the finish mat! BTW do any of you watch The Amazing Race Asia? It doesn't go to as many locales but the challenges are much more difficult and the prize is only $100K, which makes for teams that are actually into winning and less fame-mongers like the CBS version. Season 4 is about to start filming, and allows teams from China PR for the first time. Those of you that like the old fashioned Amazing Races should definitely torrent the first three seasons.
Is there anywhere to get the first 12 seasons? I think I started on about season 13...and would love to watch them from the beginning. Anywhere online? DD
