the money could have not been in the bag if he wasn't planning on giving it to abernathe in the first place. he could have just thrown the bag in the water for show since he knew mrs bates was watching him.
Embarassingly, I finally got around to watching the final episode last night. WOW!!! All I could think of was Spoiler ...stupid Norman. You could've dropped the hammer on the hot teacher. Quit listening to the voices. While he is corrupt as hell, I'm starting to like Romero's character. No frills. No games. Straight up honesty...except with Abernathy. Great ending episode. Can't wait until next season.
This is what I did. Just finished the finale. Very solid. Next year has a tough act to follow. Reading this thread today from the beginning was entertaining. I agree the show started out on one level and continually improved.
