In the US, tobacco was widely used as a pesticide and a crop dust until deadly DDT made its appearance on the market. http://cochise.uia.net/alistar/tobacco.html now try the link
The entire plant is poisonous. It is extremely toxic to livestock and other animals. http://www.envtox.ucdavis.edu/cehs/TOXINS/tobacco.htm
I heard they spotted that killer squirrel smoking a Marlboro...and cows are notorious cigarette moochers.
. Smoking it is not as toxic as eating it. Vice-versa for cannabis ! The Tobacco plant is toxic and poisonous. The mar1juana plant is not- animals love to eat it. Inhaling the smoke of vegetable matter can cause damage, regardless.
In all seriousness, i could really care less if you all get stoned as long as you don't hurt anyone by driving, whatever. The same goes for tabacco, beer, and whatever else you need to get yo crumpled body to do its thang. I just find it funny that people defend it so. Oh and BTW hayes, sex is better than tabacco and weed for stress any day of the week!
So what? I know the risk of smoking of any kind. Let me choose what I do with my body. Besides, I only smoke the finest stuff. I would never buy off the street.
Even *that* webpage notes in its FAQ that mar1juana is not physically addictive and that many people do not need to quit using as they are not addicted.
MMM...Tomacco... Just a thought, I don't want to really get into the argument, but if you were to try to use the Bible as an argument to smoke pot, wouldn't you also have to live by the part of the Bible that says that your body is a temple to the Lord and that you must not do things to harm it. And since most people agree that even though it may not be AS BAD as tobacco, weed is still bad for you...and smoking weed would directly harm your body from the carcinogens. Just a thought...
Supersmack, You could still eat it. And the burn incense in temples don't these? AntiSonic, I like the MA site. That was humorous. Does anyone actually use the word 'score' in relation to pot? "I scored some pot?" Even better you could say "I scored a lid," like you were in some 70s time warp. I think there is a credibility gap for anyone who says pot is spiritually destructive. If someone has an addictive personality, they are going to be addicted to something. I'd still rather they be 'pot addicts' (although there is no such thing) than alcoholics. Much less danger to themselves and society at large.
Won't that confuse your child when he is told to avoid mind-altering substances and then he turns around and you're sipping on a beer? Then again...it wouldn't be nearly as confusing as seeing his dad's buddy Ref downing anti-depressants like they're Flintstones vitamins.
