I am so much more mellow in person, I never let my sons see my frustration with the Stros, to them it is just a game....and that is the right perspective.

For me....NOTHING is a game, except what I am working on now.

Craig Biggio is not the worst player in major league history. He slumped. He has hit well of late.
Craig Biggio has 8 outfield assists. This ties him for third among NL center fielders and fourth in the major leagues.

-Biggio is the epitome of hustle. But he doesn't look like an everyday player anymore.

Morgan Ensberg is not the greatest player in major league history. He has slumped since the All-Star break. In fact, his OPS since then is .616, which is worse than Biggio's in that same time span.

-Ensberg will continue to improve.

But that doesn't matter, because Jimy Williams sucks, the Astros suck, Craig Biggio sucks, and Morgan Ensberg is a golden god.

Novak - weren't you the one who was complaining all last year about Drayton not opening the wallet, and then decided to shut up about it when he signed... that one guy, what's his name? Jeff Kent?

-I was one of the fans last year pissed off at the fact that McLane is always complaining about losing money, despite being in a new ballpark (which he said he needed to turn a profit), and other revenue streams he didn't have in the Dome.

-The signing of Jeff Kent was a good change, but McLane signed Kent to a sweetheart deal, and especially since Kent wanted to live closer to his ranch. I admitted I was wrong and ate my crow gladly. I don't remember shutting up about it, but you put it so eloquently.

The Cubs did indeed get players for the stretch run. Bad players. Bad, old players. WHY DO YOU WANT THIS FOR THE ASTROS? ARRRRRRRRRGH.

-How is Kenny Lofton a bad player? Randall Simon has played marvelously off the bench for the Cubs. That team is making moves because they want to win. Yeah they're old players, but they are called veterans, funny how other teams have old players and the Astros have veterans.

Biggio actually has a higher OBP than Lofton and more RBI and runs scored. Lofton has a higher slugging pct (only because of his ABs against the Astros ) The only significant difference between the two is Lofton's stolen bases.

Also, Biggio plays in an outfield that doesn't include two other players with the defensive range of a gravid water buffalo - so his defensive shortcomings, while apparent aren't magnified by having to cover for his corner outfielders.
