Hell yeah Kam. That Kroger is 45 seconds from my house. You can find an even bigger selection of jewish food at Beldens, the foodstore at Chimney Rock and South Braeswood. Welcome to the hood!!!
You don't. The candles are supposed to burn all the way down until they are out. You are supposed to place the menorah on a dish or metal plate and then place it in a window in the front of your house.
Speaking of Kwanzaa, here is the President's real Kwanzaa message: http://www.bettybowers.com/kwanzaa.html
Oh man, that is hilarious. I lived right by there for 13 years and yes, it was the pinnacle of Jewish food. The amount of pointless crap they needed for each and every holiday was overwhelming. It's the only place in the world that I know of that has more Jewish holiday crap than any Christian stuff. There's even like 5 different kinds of Kosher bacon. Check out the meat section blessed by an Orthodox rabbi. Sad thing is I guess we took that place for granted when we moved here; whenever we try to get some matzah (the kosher for Passover variety), it was already bought by the Southern-Southern Baptists who recreate Jesus' last supper. It's kind of funny if you think about it.
Dam! That's some sweet gig! Getting presents every night for eight nights! Us goys only get one night! Chappy Chanukah to one and all!
A very happy Hannukah to all! I'll be downing latke's & large quantities of (hopefully non-kosher) alcoholic beverages Saturday night...wooohoooo!
Well, can't speak for other families, but in mine, the eight gifts thing lasted until you were about 5 years old. Went down to 3 or so from 5-15 and then one gift from age 16 on. I distinctly remember remember getting a calendar from my Dad's company for gift #3 when I was around 10 years old!
