hedo was HIGHLY inconsistent in the first 3 rounds of the playoffs. HIGHLY inconsistent. he would be a ghost for 1-2 games, and show up for one game, until the finals. so no b/c he def. thinks hes good and wants big money. but if we can sign and trade for artest, then
Wouldn't pay him over what he's making now. Artest had better playoff stats and is way more intense then Turkeyglue(not to mention he was missing freethrows like Shaq in the Lakers series).
So you wouldnt trade Ron Artest for Hedo because Artest got us out of the first round. Hedo just got Orlando to the Finals. Say what you want about Howard and Lewis, but Hedo was the most valuable player for that team in the playoffs. He handled the ball late in games and he was by far their best playmaker and clutch shooter. Im not saying it people shouldnt have some reservations about a trade like this, but it should definitely be considered assuming Hedo isnt asking for some ridiculous contract.
Offensive + Defensive - He blew so many assignments in the finals, it wasnt even funny ... He was frequently the guy out of position on the double team scrambling to recover I would pass on him ... Because of that and his age and the money he would want
I'd absolutely love to have him on our team. He shoots well, he's tall, and he's very good decision maker. When he drives, he extends his off arm out to the full length, but instead of getting called for offensive fouls, he actually draws fouls. Not sure whether refs will change the way they are officiating him once he's teaming up with Yao. What's there not to like? Did I mention he's tall? So he could easily pass to Yao facing all those guards out there? But the question is, can we afford him?
When we lost to the lakers in game 7, I saw that Ron was to slow to beat anyone off the dribble. I watched Hedo beat anyone guarding him including Kobe and shooting nothing and creating fo others easily . Ron is only good offensivly when the 3 is falling but he can shoot you out of a balll game because he jacks up crazy shots. That's compared to Hedo who takes shots in rhythm and who is able to handle the ball like a point guard going through the lane....If the rockets were able to do this deal it's a no brainer.Get in done Morey!
I wouldn't mind having him. Seems like a good fit for our system. Yes, he is bad defensively, but our TEAM defense can cover up for that. It wasn't like our defense plummeted when Wafer was on the court. But with that said, geez... lets keep this guy on the left side of the court at all times on offense.
If you like Hedo, why not just keep Tmac? I think that they might actually be pretty similar players assuming Tmac can come back but that he's not as athletic as his former self. - Both can distribute in the half court - Both can space the floor and shoot the long ball - Both can create - Both are soft - Defense will probably be pretty similar if Tmac loses quickness - Both have proven that they can operate in the clutch Recent stats are pretty similar as well.
If this would happen (a pipe dream) I'm sure they'll just buy out TMAC's contract, similar to what they did to PENNY when they traded him for THE FRANCHISE........ Actually , this would solve the Magic's luxary tax problem.... but thios won't happen
