well our owner is going to try and bring in a top name coach (said so in an interview) but thats beyond the point right now. not only will we have cap space, but alot of talent to go with that. nba players, like eveyrone else, wants to get paid. sure we have to compete with other teams, most prominently orlando, but there are more than 1 key free agent that summer - duncan, kidd, oneal, etc. dice or no dice, we have alot going for us (great owner, top notch arena, great city and fans, etc). so yes i think we can get a max FA. not in that list but a key guy...him and dice and our picks is a decent lineup right there. so im gonna get my hopes up. part of enjoying a rebuilding process.
IMO, I think Den is better off letting McDyess walk (if he still can), if he is demanding the max contract. Of course, if this kills your chances of getting a higher-tier FA, then I guess you might "have to" re-sign McDyess.
Turkoglu is not that great a shot. He is shooting %42 from the field and %37 from 3pt land...And this is in the Kings offensive system. Here in Houston he won't get as many good looks as in Sactown. Plus he struggled when he started during Peja injury. He may get better but I want someone who is hitting at least %47 from the field and %40 from the 3pt land
did you just say that you are enjoying Tim Hardaway and Juwan Howard, when everyone else is enjoying watching Van Exel play with a purpose, finally.
Juwan Howard is an angry fellow I've seen 2 Nuggets games, and he's been impressive. I don't know what his numbers are since he's been traded, but he looks better than I've ever seen him. Sure the Nuggets suck, but it's not because of Juwan Howard Tim, however, is pretty much done. Crispee
I don't understand this fascination with Turkoglu. If worst came to worst (Ming, Woods and Marcus all taken), we could always draft Caron Butler. We don't have to trade anyone, and Butler has an offensive game AND a defensive game. Besides, can you imagine any of the Rocket radio or television announcers saying Turkoglu over and over in a game -- although I guess they would call him our young Turk.
way to put a spin on what i said. basically im very happy with what we got in the trade now that ive seen harvey and howard play (hardaway is a non factor). howard plays tough and is putting up decent stats (outplaying raef too), while harvey is just a great surprise. he is a player. as for van exel, his sorry overpaid a$$ - i dont care. he didnt win us any games, so really we were able to dump ALOT of crappy contracts. think scottie pippen. im enjoying 10000 times more watching these guys bust their butts and try to win and care about playing than watching nve do his **** (i miss raef though), when in both cases, we would have about the same record. that is, if nve didnt sit out the rest of the season with an 'injury' like he threatened to do. besides, lets say we finished with 30 wins. so? no cap room. 4-5 spots lower pick. what good is that? so yes, im DEFINTELY enjoying the new nuggets team alot more than the old.
yeah tim will be bought out next year. hes gone. i hope he gets on with a good team and has a chance to win a title like he did with dallas. juwan howards nuggets stats up to date : 18.4 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 2.8 apg, 46% fg also, check out this from espn insider: thats all im saying.
I wouldn't consider Odom or Lewis a franchise player at this point... not even that close. I'm not sure Lewis even has that kind of potential.
