lol, name one section in the New Testament, (the Testament from which we learn of Jesus) that encourages violence???? I am sure you can point to several scriptures in the Old Testament but they became null and void once Jesus arrived. I find it funny when a non-believer reads a few scriptures and think they know everything. Why not read the entire Bible so you can educate yourself. Actually, I doubt you have actually read anything other than possibly a few cherry picked scriptures from the internet to promote your original belief that Christianity is bad. I challenge you to do read the ENTIRE Bible. There have been many people who become saved by the blood of Christ when they try to use the Bible to prove it is wrong.
Why not go to the source and actually read the words in the Qu'ran and the Hadith???? It is there in black and white if you care to read it.
Not to Jews Do you not see the irony here? Isn't this exactly what people are doing with the Koran? And yet you decry it if someone were to do it with the Bible. Wow. Amazing. Interesting you would say this. Seems like you like to judge people negatively and make a lot of presumptions. I'm sorry this is your nature. If you care to know, I read the Bible when I was younger because I went to a Catholic private school. The teacher did make sure to point out that my parents were devil worshippers for being Hindus. True, they didn't make us read much from the Old Testament though. I did that on my own because I was curious why it was never read from. You're right in terms of the level of violence being different. I really don't have the time or to be completely honest, the interest.
lol, it figures. At least I actually read the Qu'ran before telling you what it actually says. You just read a few scriptures from the Bible that you probably found on the internet and pulled an interpretation out of your ass. If you do not want to educate yourself so you do not sound like a complete idiot please do not bother to post in these types of threads. If you will not actually read the Bible or the Qu'ran how the heck could you ever comment on either unless you enjoy looking like an idiot.
I just told you I read the bible in Catholic school and again you tell me i got it off the internet. smh. You aren't here to debate. You are here to unleash your anger unto those you despise. Good luck with that.
lol, you admitted you never read the entire Bible yet you think you know it??? Seriously, it is the same thing with the Qu'ran and the Hadith, you know nothing about them yet spew generalities like Muslim enlightenment without a frickin clue. If you admit what you learned of the Bible came from Catholic schools then you are more screwed up than I imagined. Why embarrass yourself further. You are simply not qualified to debate this without looking like an ass.
I never said I know it but I do not think Christianity is any superior to any other religion. The bible is a book of much mythology and some historical fact, just like all these other religious books. To me, anyone who takes these things literally doesn't get the point of religion. I care not for your gods and such. Good day. I do suggest that you think about actually following the teachings of Jesus before you post. He certainly did not tell you to call people names, and act like an arrogant prick.
You should try to be less insulting, whether its true or not. Your extreme liberal ideology is just as mythical as the books you insult in this post.
Language is a funny thing. Translation happen, meaning get lost and context is quite often lost also. Plus, a single sentence or paragraph here and there doesn't tell the whole story. Then add in personal bias, filters and you can achieve a very personal understanding that may be quite different from most others. That's pretty universal and I would said it apply to all religion and religious books. My take (for all religion in general) is as you read religious source as a "beginner", you aren't an expert, a practicing person of that religion and won't likely understand it from the perspective of the practicing person of that religion and of the experts in the field of that religion. Getting to know their takes, in addition to your own, should help expand the possibilities and ranges of interpretation and help you refine your understanding. I doubt it can hurt. That's my take. I do have a question for you (as I read this is common) - do you believe that you cannot truly understand and properly interpret the Word of God (Bible) unless you are a Christian? And if so, then with that perspective, how does a non-believer understand the Bible?
I love how a thread about an Islamic attack on an airport to scare travelers has turned into christian Catch-22 pop shots as if christianity is some sort of Scientology scam where they REALLY GOOD stuff is only available on the next level. There is literally a thread called questions for christians but this is where you chose to post. ****ing lol
And they would all be wrong. Al Queda was formed from that, but not Isis. If ISIS is a reaction to Western encroachment, why are they killing so many Muslims? ISIS is a power grab, filling a void left after our encroachment there ended.
I was curious and the question was directed at him. Sorry you took offense, although I'm not quite sure what you took offense about.
What? Where? I haven't seen anyone defending ISIS or this bombing. LOL. People disagree about their aims, their precise origins and how to defeat them. Oversimplifying: not helpful.
It's there way of dealing with anyone who sees a different reality - that they must be defending terrorism. It's the whole, "you are with me or against me" attitude.
