    This is just a music thread, and as such, it does not warrant the kind of controversy you are trying to create. I am not going to respond to any more of this kind of racially antagonistic or racially inflammatory rhetoric any more in this thread. If you want to gin up some sort of controversial or hostile race related debate or discussion, take it to the D&D. I am done trying to dialog with you, or with anyone else in this thread who shares your attitude.

    A lot of them did. I used to watch a lot of MTV when I was younger, in the early 1980's, around the time that MTV first came into existence. Never got into the grunge all that much though.

    Manny's music thread isn't mostly hip hip or pop music listed. The whole thread is basically 5 posters vying for the crown of indie king and dandorotik telling us which one of Cheap Trick's album's he is listening to.

    That being said what happened to Landlord Landry?

I don't like the subtitle of this thread, but the other thread really is dominated by stuff that's primarily post-1990 or even post-2000- and yes, I'm partial to stuff I grew up listening to- 70s and 80s mostly.

    I don't understand why you took offense at what I wrote. It was in jest. In my mind every time I see a post of yours I think Cheap Trick guy. Reason being is I've seen your write some lengthy expositions about the band, which in itself is kind of cool since you seem to have a passion about music.

    I never said anything was wrong with the band, and I've never even actually heard a song of theirs. I'm not a critic in any ways. I only know indie rock. I don't know anything about music before the 1990's other than Joy Division.

    It is OK not to like Eric Clapton. Especially when you post a very fine video from the top name punk rock band of their time, as you have done here.

    Here is an excellent video that I have watched a number of times, and that was very popular about a year ago. It is a recently choreographed production in a fully functioning Belgium train station to Julie Andrews "Do-Re-Mi". This is really great, although it does break ranks rather radically with the types of music that many people might instinctively expect in a thread like this. It is, in its own way, beyond old school. But in my view, it is very certainly a tune that rules.
