From the "Westside" article: That's why I don't want him to start - 14 seconds of dribbling around and it's a top of the key three? The result ended up good, but how many teammates are going start standing around?
Shed light on alot of things. Great read! Im still debatin the 3 spot though.....We gonna start nachbar, rice or griff? Who do ya'll think has the best shot? I would go w/ griff, but hes going to be a an eventual 4......I wanna see him get playin time, as much as possible, but not at the 3. I wanna see him at the 4 and boki at the 3. Thas our future, and I think they should get playin time there. Man, Rudys got alotta options and weapons. Wow.
We could solve a lot of these problems by trading Francis and Griffin for Duncan. Then Moochie or some acquired PG could play the point, Cat remains at the two, and the frontcourt is set.
Great article Macbeth. If we're loaded as a scoring team, then just a few changes in ball movement would erase the assist question wouldn't it? I interpret Murphy's article is that our backcourt duo is flawed in on-court intelligence and ball handling. In that case, addition by subtraction would fit because it's implied that Moochie is more capable of passing the ball. Plus, we'd get a spark off the bench like we did when we had Sam Cassel. I can see that work because we'd have an inside out combo with Yao and Steve with Cat to lead the second team. But long term, I'd rather have Steve and Cat on the court together, working together with the rest of the team. It's really optimistic to think that they will get smarter with the ball movement, because it doesn't happen to every player. But if that happens, it's a very lethal duo. I don't think it should be Yao's team yet. I don't think we should start 'rebuilding' now. There will be a team when we're on the cusp of contending and CD will have to pull some changes to tweak the team, but for now, we're young, athletic, explosive, and very versatile. Why fix it when it aint broke?
