Pierce played heavy minutes at the SG slot last year. Heavy minutes. Now, granted the Celts had lots of injuries to Battie, Anderson, McLeod out with family emergencies, etc. But the typical Celts lineup had Adrian Griffin (until he lost his spot in the rotation) at SF with Pierce at the 2. Others had McLeod at the 3, and even McCarty played some 3. But I'd be willing to bet Pierce logged more than 50-60% of his minutes at the 2, and possibly more.

Not sure how they will work it this year. Maybe Joe Johnson will start at the 3.

Pierce is listed as a G-F combo player too. So what constitutes him beiong a shooting guard or a small forward then?

    I disagree.

Even if Grant plays PG, it will only be on offense. He will most probably guard the 3. McGrady and Miller will cover the backcourt.

McGrady plays like a guard on offense for the most part, facing the basket and from at least 17 feet out.

McGrady is more of his dominant self playing at the two and being guarded by smaller players.

As a rocket fan, I'd rather see him play the 2.
