I think people here are getting a bit upset here.

I didn't think any of the comments in the article were that outrageous at all.

They aren't outrageous, as personal opinions. But as a season preview, it's blatantly skewed to the negative. The stuff on McGrady completely ignores the success we had as a team, shorthanded, in each of the last two seasons. Look, we all know that McGrady is temperamental and he says silly things now and then. A lot of it should not be taken seriously. This writer is selectively choosing the information to paint a portrait of a player who is thoroughly self-involved and doesn't care at all about his teammates or winning. I don't understand why so many sports writers have to latch on to these 1-dimensional caricatures.

The explanation of why they do is simple - time. Most sports writers don't spend the time (or have it) to watch every player, understand their quirks, and so forth... Obviously, the article would be different if Jonathan Feigen wrote it as he follows the Rockets more closely versus an outside writer who probably only has heard the comments made by Tmac that has leaked into the mainstream. If we were sports writers, we would most likely do the same if told to write about a taem we didn't have much knowledge on. However, I also hate that this is the way it happens, and agree with you that this writer is taking on a 1-dimensional outlook.

WTF makes no sense. If adlemen were daring he'd start battier at SF and ron at PF. But he'll probably start Ron at his natural PF.

What a damn idiot. Is this just a blogger? Please tell me he is not an actual journalist.

This article's a little disappointing simply because it doesn't really say anything new or insightful. It states the obvious -- Yao has had a hard time staying healthy, Artest has been difficult -- and even repeats the McGrady Myth: that he can't win. Nevermind that the Rockets have won a lot of games and made the playoffs, in the tougher Western Conference, with McGrady. Nevermind that they didn't advance in the playoffs because the team as a whole just wasn't quite good enough. I would have thought this publication could do better.

Now don't get me wrong, I love to get everyone's panties in a knot.

It's just that is what I have been saying about Tracy forever. I felt he hit it right on the head. It's not about the injuries, it's about Tracy's mind. He turns it on and off, let's slumps get to him, he wants everyone to watch him, he's decided to become a playmaker instead of a scorer. It's what Tracy wants.

I have been a troll many times in my day. This is for certain.

It's not that I dislike Tracy either. There are other players I would rather have, but Tracy is a great player who just needs to keep the switch on rather than half on/half off. We can win this year and Tracy will be our leader. Hopefully the Ron Ron acquisition glues that switch on.

I am pretty much a failure. People criticize my work ethic and I hardly try anymore.

After this year at work, I think I'm going to try to play baseball. I was really good in high school. I bet I could be a pro.

Cut T-Mac some slack, he appeared in the play-offs...but the rest of the Rockets didnt. I think he ended the season strong, but the Jazz played better team basketball.

I think he talks about baseball to the press, b/c I can imagine that 24/7 basketball talk gets old to him after awhile. The guy is human. He has other interests outside of the game, just like we do outside of our work schedule. The baseball stuff is just talk. Nothing to it.

Its funny, the people who critize him are web warriors that really dont do anything else, but complain about any and everything. Ex: all of mlwoo's posts in the Rockets related talk. Dude, your like the Perez Hilton of the board. I think the Hangout appreciates your Andrew Dice Clay comedy routine, but for me, it is about as washed up as Boliver.

The negitivity just gets to me after awhile. I'm sick of ol' Down Downerson. If Mcgrady scored 50 on opening night, the guy would flip flop his opinion that quick, with a thread saying McGrady for MVP.

I really wonder if he has been a Rockets fan since the drafting of Yao. As for me, thrill of my life was when Robert Reid helped me work on my free throws as Ralph Sampson snagged the rebound.

I love it when young posters resort to name calling and insults. It's so fun. I know I am getting to them.

There is nothing that I have commented on in this thread that cannot be seen straight up. Tmac talks too much. He says stupid things. He's a primadonna. He fakes injuries in practice to sit out. All that said, I want the dude to win. We have no choice but to. We have a max player that no ther team in the NBA wants to touch with a twenty foot pole.

I can imagine a board where people don't speak their mind. I can imagine a board where people say, "It's ok we lost in the first round, at least we made the playoffs!." "The Rockets will win a championship every year!" "Luther Head is a great piece of our team!"

I guarantee you a lot more people are going to talk about what is wrong versus what is right. Your plumbing is working right now, are you thinking about it? If a pipe was busted I bet you would. I bet you would also get excited if you had plumbing installed after not ever having it as well.

So from now on, I will speak nothing but sunshine. Every post will be pro-rockets. I will change my sig to ROCKETS+RON ARTEST=CHAMPIONSHIP and I will only post in the GARM. There's no need to question any player anyways, they are in the NBA. I will spend 2000 on season tickets behind the Rowdies just so I can help them out and I will show up 2 hours before every game and wait by the exit to tell the guys to keep their heads up after a loss.

Their just humans, they have outside interests. The other day I went and told my boss that after my 3 year non compete was up, I was going to go work for another firm. He loved it and is considering me for a promotion. It didn't piss off one of my group members, they are happy I have outside interests.

    SUNSHINE SUNSHINE SUNSHINE

How am I like Paris Hilton? I'm confused.

Couple of paragraphs of trash ^^^

Young poster? I promise I probably am at the least, 5-10 years older than you.

Since you bash the rowdies at times, why leave out the fact that you yourself was a rowdy. Bet you thought I forgot. I was the first rowdy ever picked, I got a new job, couldnt make it to the games, and did maybe 3 games as a rowdy, and passed my free tix on to someone else. The rowdy bash doesnt offend me, its your third time to try that...not working.

Paris Hilton and Perez Hilton (2 different people, Mr. high speed)

Plain and simple, and you not only admit it, your sig is proud of it......you try your hardest to be the biggest jerk on the board.

Since you want to undercut me all the time about my age, race, being a rowdy, being a T-Mac fan...why dont you give us a little info on you.

You are 29-34 and still wish you could band on a trash can, paint your face, and wear a sombrero at a Rockets game?

I think it's good to be a child at heart.

    I'm sorry I'm such a big jerky-face.

I told you I'm a changed man. Only positive.

RAFER ALSTON IS A TOP 3 NBA POINT GUARD AND SHOULD AT LEAST GET VOTED IN BY THE COACHES FOR THE ALL-STAR TEAM.

Add this to your sig collection:

I will pay for one free Rockets game for you this season. Hell, I'll buy you a beer (if your old enough). We can sit together, cheer on our team, and afterwards walk to the Holiday Inn behind the Toyota Center, and I'll (insert a Chuck Norris move) you.
