OK, OK... 1) get job 2) get fancy electronic gadgets for your vehicle. 3) use new job and fancy electronic gadgets to get woman 4) get laid
you got me! of course by the time i get a job, XM technology may have gone the way of the eight track.
I've had both; I prefer the in dash CD player. It's simpler and the trunk cd relies on an FM signal. Mine went out quite a bit. Also, if you burn your cds now the single cd player isnt' bad.
I would also suggest getting a deck that can play mp3s. Even at a very high sound quality, you can still fit at least 6 cds worth on one mp3 disk, thus giving you the best of both worlds.
here's something i don't understand about mp3 (CD) players if you're looking for a certain song on the cd, won't it take ages to find it amongst all the mp3s that can fit on a cd? i like having only 17-20 wav files on a CD, easy to navigate.
My Camaro has a 12 disc changer in the trunk and a single disc in the dash, plus the stereo controls are on the steering wheel. I have probably changed my CD's out in my changer about twice. I would go with the single disc changer. What kind of car is it? I see that there are some Fords that come with MP3 players built into the stereo now. drapg: I haven't thought about that. I guess you could have some sort of list or something? Maybe organize it by music type or artist so it would be easier. I usually memorize the order of songs pretty fast though, so it wouldn't be too bad. I would definitely like to try one of those MP3 CD Players in my car.
You can put the mp3s in folders or "albums", really simple if you are ripping from your own cds (surely no one would just steal music). That makes it simpler to remember where everything is. Like Sonny though, I just memorize the order of the songs. Another way to do it is alphabetically.
I love my Blaupunkt MP41 - it's the best car accessory ever. I do the same thing - I organize by album or band or music type. Btw, if you are thinking about getting an MP3 CD player, this is the place to go - Highway MP3
I've got a Kenwood in dash MP3 - but I mostly use the plain regular burned cds. Trunk players suck. Navigating menus not a real problem with folders. I'd never take a factory sound. Of course, I'm a landlord, and car audio tenants always owe me money . The best SOUND I ever had was with an Eclipse deck with seperate sub out. You could tune it for massive attack quickly, and with precision. Classical to Mettalica, perfect acoustic. Darn thieves. It's hard to find that seperate control for the sub out, but well, well worth it.
