I'm starting to think with several Asian countries and EU countries getting COVID-19 under control that the PRC, Russia, Brazil and US might end up as pariah countries with travel bans on them to stop the respread of the virus.
Yeah that was a great wrestling skit. Im sure abraham lincoln with his thoughtful 300 word speech at gettysburg would agree. In fact with the virus going on and tensions are high now is the time trump could throw us all a bone of unity and president. I mean now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those 100k+ who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. Just something... Historians will look back and this era and thousands of years from now the archive will reflect back on this period and how low the bar was lowered. Sometimes i think back to 80s or 90s early 2000s with nostalgia. Im view now with nostalgia. It normally takes like 10 years. Right now trump and this entire presidency has really been a lowering of the bar which ironically will raise the bar. I assume ..like you...when this is all over he will say it was 'tough love' and that he was just being a disruptor and 'kidding' Probably forever we will be able to reference this era and presidency from the 'what not to' and perhaps in a morbidly sick way we will all be better for it. Im not screwed all the way yet and things are looking pretty shaky but I have literally no aspirations besides hanging with my kids and trying to bone my hot wife as much as I can. The bar is set to zero. I guess im saving money is a good thing since any vacation I look at is a cancel. We were going to go to a buck naked resort in cancun. Cancel... the crash diet over and bought 2 of the big peanut butter twix.. Paris flights are looking strong but who is going to quarantine for 14 days in paris first? I suppose I could even stay with a friend and have wonderful french meals at their home for 2 weeks but then what? Even if I go into paris what are you gonna do? I suppose walk around with mask on? No galerie lafayette, no dorsay, no louvre. St germaine is nice bars.. so is odeon and the latin quarter but im not eating out or cafe which is 75% of the paris experience. So i started looking again at usa and was just about to book seattle with bellingham extension when my wife started asking wtf is going on with seattle and anarchy etc. Nice... So thats out. S padre is 6 hours away. There is this hotel on the beach called pearl resort. Never been. I was going to maybe book before the new corona spike and at $175 a night Im ok with it albeit s padre.. I suppose you pay to be on beach vs a nice hampton inn on the freeway for $125..but you don't want to read the reviews about pearl since once I did that is was done and the place sounds like a cesspit. With tax etc... dropping $600 for extreme nastiness 3 nights sounds ehh... I was watching some video about how basically public bathrooms are perfect corona transmission locations and after seeing that there will be zero public bathroom visits ..and will have to get one of those big nozzle gatorade bottles to piss in. Kids will all have to have their own bottles. this is what we have come to. I suppose that can put gas in get to the spot and then get gas there but no stop on way there. That's now reduced the range to about waco. I knew i hit rock bottom when my search was "waco hotels" and the notion that the river looks cool on google earth. Weve gone to me wearing a beret like rusty in paris... to looking at waco. That is the bar now. so i am now letting this be a nostalgia moment. Im actually finally enjoying itba bit.. Later we will look at now and remember it in some strange fond way "that time I didnt do jack sh**t for months on lockdown" So im taking this fondly. I will probably never have this much time again. I probably wont do or get to do any of this again with my kids. Maybe thats what its all about? There has been some mental shifts a great time of introspection. Im still not there and now since about around st Patrick day until now Im slowly slowly doing little things. I really want to feel like i didnt squander this moment in terms of personal growth ...and i want to make sure my own bar was raised back up since all else has been emptied. Not about work that will always be fine...but about mental and just the good parts of this world. Dammit im determined to enjoy waco. We all have our things and i think maybe the 'great again' concept for me can be a sharpening and reminding and introspection and all that. Nothing to do with trump but I will take his disaster motto and try to make some lemonade.. Im not hinging my situation on trump winning or losing but mentally ive hit the pass button on this whole year. Now it literally doesnt matter. Sure it could get worse but Im nostalgia all day over here baby having fun!! ( alcohol increase has taken a slight uptick) and this viagra stuff is wild wacky stuff as johnny would say..my wife makes it all better. 120k deaths is never good, but the per capita numbers are actually much better than many European countries. NYC and the tri state area really botched it for us. By far the worst numbers, and contributed to the spread elsewhere. Terrible job by Cuomo.
