If we stopped testing, CV-19 deaths would get logged as "respiratory failure" and we would stop seeing CV-19 deaths. The Criminal in Chief could claim that he and he alone has solved the CV-19 problem. I think that the no-CV-testing is a marketing strategy. He desperately wants to say "problem solved so we can move on". All of these dead people are hurting his reelection chances.
Is it just me or did Anderson County have like an 900% increase today? Went from 102 cases to 989. Brazoria went up about 33% from around 950 to 1,456. Texas as a whole almost hit 4,000 new cases and leads the nation today...not good.
Its all becoming pretty predictable in an unpredictable time of virus. Like clock work we will hear things like 'numbers always higher after the weekend' or 'its just one hotspot' in this case I believe its a prison. So no biggie but isnt that a bit scary when a big population of a prison has it? at least maybe now we dont have to hear the trope about warm weather causing it to disappear. Now its because it IS hot and we all are indoors. I aint finna do sh*it with this coronavirus been in since st patricks day. Also..can someone define hotspot? I will hang up and listen..
Probably i missed it but what is the metric for shutdown ..or is there one? What is the criteria for place to be deemed 'hotspot' ? then what?
According to Worldometers, Texas had 4,413 new cases today, shattering the previous high of 2,437 on June 10 (less than a week ago).
I’d say we are already in trouble. 8,000+ plus cases in the next few days would be worthy of DEFCON 1-level panic.
But that's to be expected. I'm firmly convinced that the top Republican state officials all along weren't really interested in fighting and containing the virus. Patrick said as much. It appears to me that all along they wanted to give the illusion of concern and of taking positive steps to address the pandemic while in reality it was always about the economy and generating favorable political imagery. You'll notice that their so-called "reopening" really started to take off once it was reported that Black and Latino communities were the hardest hit. Not their constituents so no political fallout from enabling the virus to spread in those communities. After all, how can you start reopening when your testing efforts have been so lacking in scope? No, this is simply Texas politicians following the DJT playbook of inadequate response to a serious health emergency.
Trump makes himself look like an idiot more and more. How anyone still trusts and supports him for reelection just blows my mind.
