    Sheer idiocy... "mind-numbing" idiocy.

President Trump: I thought coronavirus mortality rate was ’about filling up Yankee Stadium with death!’

"This is a war. We're fighting the invisible enemy and he is....what's that word, Fauci?"
    (sighs) "Insidious."
    "Yeah. 'Insidious'."
Acosta (CNN): "You say you're a wartime President. But then you tell your 50 some-odd Generals to go get their own soldiers. Their own ammunition. Draw up their own plans. Don't come whining to us for any of that. Isn't that what's happening here?"
"You're so disgraceful. Such fake news....You should be ashamed. Who let you in here?"

I'll repeat again that we don't have the will to do what is needed to fight this disease. Think about what privations, harm to the economy that our grandparents endured to fight WWII, what their parents endured to fight WWI, and what their grandparents endured to fight the Civil War. For this country we've never had to endure privations to fight a war since WWII. The privations we suffer now are mild compared to what happened then but we are losing many more per day than the average for WWII. The battle with the most US casualties was the battle of Normandy with 29,204 killed. That battle took about 2.5 months. In that same time we've lost more than twice that number to COVID-19, yet we didn't see protests to open up the economy from wartime rationing.

Axios is now reporting that Trump ... will soon argue that the people dying of COVID-19 are actually now dying of something else.

"A senior administration official said he expects the president to begin publicly questioning the death toll as it closes in on his predictions for the final death count and damages him politically," Axios reports.

This new press secretary is really smug and condescending.

    Wow.

She was saying that a test means nothing since you can get the virus right after anyway.

    So dont test?

    I still want to fu**cking know bit**ch

the nature of the word "test" is to "test" at that moment! Wtf!

The daily mental gymnastics is exhausting.

testing is for knowing who has it and isolating and curing them. also to know who have they been in contact with, have them self isolate, and test and cure them if needed.

test + contact tracing + social distancing + wearing masks = flatten the curve

You've seen her schtick before, right? This is pretty much what you should have expected.
You really shouldn't watch. Not good for your health.

So he can get tested often. He can have people who he is around tested, yet not do the same for the country. He says one thing and does another. The percentages of people getting tested tells a different story. Employers don't even test asymptomatic people, but Mr. Twitter man doesn't know what that's like.

I'm sorry to repeat myself, but these things read like chapters Orwell would have thrown in the trash. Or his editor would have suggested the cut. "Too outlandish."

One of the nurses in the Oval Office was talking about a lack of PPE at her Nawlins hospital. She'd been re-using the same N-95 for many days....weeks? Jake Tapper on CNN noted what you can see: Trump's body language. Won't look at her while she speaks, arms folded, won't hear any criticism. Then he basically says to her, "That's not what I've been hearing, maybe it's going badly there, but everywhere else, it's sunshine and daffodils and Golden Retriever puppy dogs."

Hearing him say that after she talked about reusing her mask was disgusting. Sad to see how quickly she acquiesced to his bullshit, but it's probably what most people in her situation would do.
